What are the common torx sizes?

Just bought a second B7 A4 for my wife and was going to put a small tool kit together to keep at the house. I work alot on bikes and really only use 8, 10, 12, 14, 17, 22mm tools. So no need to for me to keep buying complete sets. What are the common torx sizes for these cars? Thx.

There's a couple 8's and 10's. Triple squares are really what you need. They are very useful. I got a set of 6, 8, 10, 12 triple squares and use the 8, 10, and 12 a lot.

X2 on the triple squares...nothing worse than breaking an axle and either waiting for the tools to come in or paying someone to do something you can easily do yourself. Small socket set, do not lose your 10mm! Mine are mostly 8 and 10's for torques. Congrats on the new car.

Triple squares x3, but that is for things not often messed with. You need T15, T20, T25, and T30 for most superficial things.

HPFP is secured with torx and PCV is also torx. Off hand I don't recall the sizes, but somewhere in the T20-T40 range. I've only come across the triple square during my steering wheel swap to this point.

Triple squares on turbo lines too. I would suggest making a list of the common jobs and researching the tools required.

Be carefull here this is trouble waiting to happen ... the fuel line to the HPFP on early cars is a triple square ( 2005.5 and 2006 ) , the HPFP is fastened down with torx yes, but the fuel line requires a stubby 17 open ended wrench and triple square for the other fuel line , it is blind and you wont see it , putting a torx in there without knowing and you are in a world of hurt.

Could there be a variance in vehicles world wide with bolt types? When I changed my HPFP I used common torx tips not "triple square" tips, same for my oil filter housing, torx were all I found. Did Audi use different bolts for different countries?

I have a pair of them sitting in front of me on my desk, one for hers and I did mine about 30k miles ago.

Thanks for the replies, not as specific as I was looking for so I'll just get a 1/4 drive set. I have a shop at my office (lift, tire machine, etc) just wanted a small kit specifically for the Audi's to keep at home for quick weekend jobs.

Yes. All fastening bolts are torx but 2005.5 and 2006 use banjo bolt for fuel line on the pump and requires a triple square
