Is there a consensus on the best rs4 front bumper (non widebody)?

Not if it is modded to fit narrowbody

OEM is probably the best. It is made for widebody however a good body shop will alter the flare and it will look perfect.

Do the OEM RS4 bumpers mount the same on the sides in those slides? I have a rep RS4 bumper that definitely does not use factory mounts and am curious what others are using for the side bumper mounts behind the intercoolers.

It's certainly very hard to pull off. It helps bring it together if you shave the side moldings on the fenders and doors.

No. It doesn't come with the same slides as A4/S4 bumpers have.

The RS4 bumper has 3 vertical screws each side for mounting with the RS4 fender that has 3 nuts welded on the inside.

Oh ok I wasn't sure. Thanks. I'll have to come up with something for that soon.

So what if I took a direct mold off the OEM RS4 bumper, and reproduced it exactly in carbon fiber or even fiberglass, would that be garbage too?

    Fibreglass - garbage.
    Carbon fibre - okay.

The problem with moulds, is up-sizing, or down-sizing. Very common when taking a mould from the inside or outside of an original. This can cause alignment issues with adjacent panels.

Yes, I've had good luck with seat molds for carbon fiber buggy seats. I always take a mold of the original, and then retake a mold off the middle one so that the final product is the exact size as the OEM. The RS4 bumper would definitely be a tough mold in a couple corners, though.
