A4 cab roof issue. CCM? Convertible top module? Need troubleshooting help

Roof never worked automatically since purchase. Initial scans (12/16) showed problems with the CCM and implausible switch (02000)

    46 Central Module Comfort System

    System description: Komfortgerát T7B 1412
    Software number: 8H0959433C

    26 Electronic Roof Control

    System description: VSG B6 CABRIO
    Software version: 7295
    Hardware number: 8H0959255B

    Trouble codes:
02000 - Switch position Implausible signa

When i cleared the codes the only thing that comes back is the intermittent alarm code. I read somewhere to reset the measuring block values to 1 to adapt the switches for the roof and tried that. No errors have shown on the roof since i did this.

Now that it's winter i started to look into the roof a little more. scans still show no issues. Pull the switch nothing happens. Someone disconnected the roof switch in the console or was troubleshooting and didn't reconnect. When the roof switch is pulled the light on the dash comes on but i only hear a faint click behind me. Then the roof dash light will flash.
Question - Research shows that the windows should drop when the switch is pulled. Mine don't move with the roof switch but do work individually and from the drivers master switch.

Is the window drop a function of the CCM or the convertible top module? 8H0959255B is the top module but doesn't show any errors anymore. 8H0959433C is the CCM and only shows the alarm issue. What's confusing is error 01334. It's a convertible and has no back doors.

    Additionally...

While connected to live data (ODBeleven) when i activate the roof switch it goes from a l to 0 so it
definitely works. When manually released the top white connected to live measuring block values the top switch did show active. Still no errors shown when scanned though.

    I tried to be thorough.

    Any help appreciated.

It appears as if cabs aren't very popular here. All i really would like to know is what tells the windows to drop half way, the ccm or convertible top module. Both are expensive and I'd like to "not" throw money away.

I fixed my convertible roof problem. 😎
I hope this information can help someone else. There appears to be very little info on the convertible roof.

After reading as much info i could find from several forums across the net i found no problem exactly like mine. (In fact the faults i found aren't even mentioned in the Ross tech fault codes etc.)

I read that some ppl have issues opening their roof because of a weak battery so I connected my battery charger, connected my ODBeleven dongle, and opened up ( electronic roof control)I looked at the faults which were:

    26 Electronic Roof Control

    System description: VSG B6 CABRIO
    Software number: 8H0959255B
    Software version: 7295

    Trouble codes:
02000 - Switch position Implausible signal
    static
01997 - Convertible top locking motor Open circuit
    Intermittent
01993 - Convert. top compart. cover locking motor Open circuit
    static

I ran the top through a manual cycle to see if all the switches would respond and they did. All changed in some form from 0--》l or vice versa. I pulled the switch and the roof didn't budge. I only heard the click in my rear. I cleared the codes set adaptation to 01 and scanned again. nothing showed up. Because my windows don't drop when i press the switch, i looked in live data and went to window operation. (I can't remember the channel#) i lowered each window individually and they all showed activation in ODBeleven.

I then opened the central module comfort system. I found these faults:

    46 Central Module Comfort System

    System description: Komfortgerát T7B 1412
    Software number: 8H0959433C
    Coding: 06666

    Trouble codes:
01134 - Alarm horn No communication
    static
00830 - Convertible top control module No communication
    Intermittent
00934 - Left rear window lift motor no adjustment or incorrect adjustment
    Intermittent
00935 - Right rear window lift motor no adjustment or incorrect adjustment
    Intermittent

I decided that I'd look into the windows because they didn't drop halfway when the roof switch is activated. I read that the windows need adaptation if they didn't work properly or if the pinch gap needed to be reset. I cleared the codes.

With all the windows closed I lowered the rear passenger window, and once it was completely open, i held the switch down for 2 additional seconds. Then i raised the window and held the switch up for 2 additional seconds. I repeated the process for all the windows.

When i hit the roof switch this time my windows dropped half way, the roof unhooked and folded back, the rear lid opened and to my surprise the roof neatly folded away. Truthfully i expected it to stop at some point or just fail altogether because of all the pump rebuild stories i read.

Turns out it wasn't the ccm or the convertible top module. Hope this helps someone else along the way.
