I have an 2007 Q7, and although I've loved and owned many Audi vehicles over the years - this Q7 has been a real pain. If a high pressure fuel pump completely fails like mine did, the engine will barely run. I had codes for Evaporative System, EPC, Multiple Mis-Fires, Secondary Air System, all kinds of things. Not only did my pump fail mechanically, but also electrically...and it dragged down several other systems with it - hence codes for the other seemingly unrelated systems. My biggest issue has been oil leaks, I've resealed the right-rear timing chain cover 3 times - this is a huge job to do without dropping the engine. I've also done the cam covers (right side twice), etc. Another source for oil leaks is the camshaft solenoid valves, there is an o-ring that goes bad and oil leaks out in a way that resembles a cam cover leak at the rear. I also have the right side warm-up catalyst "below efficiency" and I'm debating on changing it out. From what I've read, it's best to go with an OEM Converter ($$$$$) to avoid a CEL. I love the way the Q7 runs and drives, even for an 11 year old car - it's just as nice or nicer than many new SUV's. I keep the Q7 as clean as possible and treat it well, most people think it's only a couple of years old and are shocked when I tell them it's a 2007. I was going to sell it recently, and had 3 people interested, but then suddenly the CEL for the "catalyst below efficiency" popped up, and I just can't sell it like that....even though one of the potential buyers was still very interested.
