    Survivor 1999 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro Sport 5spd - Value?

Hi guys. I'm selling a 2-owner, dealer maintained 2.8 Quattro Sport Manual A4. It has 194,000 miles but is in very nice shape and drives like a gently used 40k A4. Aside from two small (easy to correct) rust spots the car is a survivor and nicely kept B5 A4's seem to be in short supply. Comes with full service history, original window sticker, books and documentation. I was even thinking about listing it on BAT.

Would like to know what a fair valuation is for sale?

Remove 2.8, install 4.2, make beautiful noises and keep it. Not making jokes here, the value in that car is mostly sentimental to you, though that interior and body look very clean! Thus, swap that engine and keep it for some fun.

Yeah unfortunately, B5s don't have all that much value right now unless they are S4 avants or rare color, clean S4 sedans from what I've seen. The miles are really what I think hurts the value to most people. My guess would be its worth $2500, maybe $3000. The car looks super clean and is optioned pretty nicely, so if you enjoy the car, I'd just keep it.

Then I wonder what my brothers B5 is worth, ive never seen a cleaner one. 114k, 2 owner. The only issue is that its a 2.8 fwd auto, so that kills some value. Basically every option except Quattro and heated seats.

    I turned a $750 car into a $10,000 car worth $2500

That car is not worth more than $2k. It's harsh world. Fwd, 2.8, automatic, prefacelift all kick it down a notch.

Maybe $3500-4000 tops. Being an Avant will help the value a bit, especially a seemingly tasteful one like yours. However, that heater core is a big drawback, as is the 2.8.

CactusAvant summarized it perfectly early in this thread, unless it’s an S4 avant, or rare color sedan, B5 aren’t worth anything. Unless it is extensively modded, like tastefully done stage 3 cars, no A4 sedan should be worth any more than $3k, no avant any more than $5k, and no s4 sedan worth more than $6k (unless rare color). Seems like nowadays a good a4 avant is equal or close in value to an s4 sedan.
