    Audi A6 C7 H&R Springs Questions

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Coming from a Mustang it is a lot harder to find mod information for me on the Audi. I have a 2014 Audi A6 Prestige with the sport suspension. I am interested in lowering the car to have minimal wheel gap, and it seems every one uses the H&R springs. What is the drop coming from sport springs? Anyone have photos? Worth the price? Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thank you.

The drop is about 1.2 inch price is 399 plus 100 install, well worth it.

Looks amazing man. What size tires all around? Did you come from sport springs? Positives or negatives? Thanks

    Audi A6 C7 H&R Springs Questions

I would like to know that too. I have OEM sport spring. Just upgraded from 19” to 20”. Still seems high.

Gap between fender and tire became smaller when put 20” tires and wheel set up. But car become higher from the ground.

I have a 2014 A6 Premium Plus with H&R sport springs with HRE FF01 wheels. The wheels are 19x9.5 and the tires are 255/35/19. The H&R springs drops the front a little lower than the back, but overall it's fine for me. I would like to go with 10 or 15 mm spacers next. Just to give it a more aggressive stance.

    255/35 20.

Car rides about the same as the stock sport suspension. Did it for looks only.

Friends that don't rape friends to install springs. It's not rocket science.

    These are heavy cars...
your shocks will fail in a year or 2...
I'd recommend holding off a bit and putting in coils when you can...
otherwise you will have to pay for so much extra labour!

Any truth to this? Can anyone comment on the longevity of the springs and shocks after installing the H&R springs? Thanks

Bringing this thread to life as I plan to get some h&r springs.

Is it Easy to fit? Anyone would estimate time spent to change the springs?

I’ve read anywhere between 4-8 hours to replace springs, probably depends on tools and experience. If anyone wants to sell stock sport springs I may be interested.

Bump found via search as I'm looking into options for after-market springs for my 2014 A6 with Sport Suspension.

Choice is between Eibach ProKit and H&R Sport Springs. Online everything seems to state Springs were tested with Suspension. Since I already have the Sports Suspension I have two questions to clear up my concerns:

    • Are these springs a direct replacement for the existing stock sport springs?
    • Is there a concern the struts wouldn't handle the additional stress?
    • Would the car ride too low?

I’m going to Eibach springs, I hear it’s a little better ride quality and not as low, H&R’s seem like they end up being a lot lower than advertised. Also I found if your stock shocks are in good shape there is no reason to replace them. Sometimes if there is corrosion on the old shocks, when you lower the corrosion will eat up the seals.

What dampers (shocks) were/are folks typically using to pair with these springs? Have to pull out some KW Street Comfort coilovers prematurely as they can't handle heat/humidity and have fallen apart in 50K kms/31K miles. Hence need to replace both springs & dampers.

Jake, do you have any information on wheel/tire fitment? I run a 285/30/21 on factory RS7 blade wheels (21x9 et35) for summer. I am concerned about rubbing. Can you provide some insight?

I am currently run 20x9 +30 with 255/35R20 PS4S. I don't know off the top of my head if anyone is running that same combo as you. Do you have any close-up photos so I can see where your tire sits in relation to your fender?
