Is the idler pulley making noise on the main belt (closest to the engine) or is it the one on the front belt for the supercharger?
OK, now I see the image. It is the supercharger belt tensioner.
That one is available as an aftermarket MOOG part, if I recall. Inexpensive and easy to replace. It is held by only one center bolt. The new one comes already pre-tensioned in fully collapsed position with a pin through it. Easy peasy to install. You just bolt it up. There is plenty of slack to position the S/C belt. Get everything in place properly and pull out the pin.
I can't speak for the S4, but on the Q5 3.0T it can be replaced from below without having to put the front in service position. It is tight, but can be done. I think the center bolt requires a "triple square" bit. Don't recall for certain. I replaced mine when going with a Stage 2 tune. I noticed some weakness of the OEM spring. It moved way too easily when taking off the OEM belt. There was only about 14,000 miles on the car at the time. I wanted to make sure it was properly tensioned. Might not have been required, but it made me feel better. The replacement was much stronger.
I'll look up the part number and source, if interested, PM me.
