    Detailed (owner's) 2018 Audi RS3 Review

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
It's been sitting on my PC for a few weeks, but I finally got around to editing and uploading it :)

    https://youtu.be/SxMMi4u56HM

The idea came up after I saw a bunch of RS3 (and other car) reviews that primarily just parroted out manufacturer specs and claims for the most part. I felt like there was room for a detailed, thorough overview of the good, bad and ugly of this car...along with some of its quirks.

Please note that this is the first time I've ever edited a video and uploaded it publicly (as should be clearly visible in the cuts/edits), so please be gentle :)

Also, let me know if you guys liked this. I can follow up with a similarly detailed review of a 2017 Allroad, a 2012 S4 and potentially a 2018 S5 Sportback.

    Cheers!

...would you believe it if I said that I had to cut it down from almost 1.45hrs worth of footage :D

I hope I'm not rambling too much...just wanted to cover points that otherwise would've gone amiss

    Cool video, I liked it.

Just a couple points, one the front fenders are actually slightly wider than the base car, about 10mm per side.

Two, I have a suspicion about the power seats, are these particular seats available powered anywhere in the world? The S4, TTRS and other Audis with power sport seats all have the other style with the hexagonal stitching, from what I can tell, so I suspect this style in the RS3 may not be powered anywhere. When the Canadian order guide first came out, power seats were an option but it switched you to those hexagonal style - this option was later removed.

I dont think it switched to the hexagonal...in Canada we would get the comfort seats found in the S3...the base seats. Apparently these were nixed as there were delays.

I recall seeing it on the Audi.ca builder months ago, but I could be remembering the wrong seat

Yea, they pulled it for some reason. Didnt think too many would opt for those seats but I thought enough would to make it a viable option for them.

Do you have some link where Audi calls out the spec for the wider front fenders? It does look a bit wider, but apart from Audi calling out a wider track (0.8 front and 0.6 rear), I haven't seen wider front fenders mentioned by them.

    It was mentioned in several reviews, mostly when the car was launched, so I imagine Audi made a point of mentioning it to the press at that time. Here is an example from Car & Driver;

    https://www.caranddriver.com/audi/rs3

All RS3s receive a boost in the chassis department via driver-adjustable adaptive dampers and a 1.2-inch-wider front track versus the rear, the latter necessitating slightly flared front fenders. Cars with the optional Dynamic package further improve grip by fitting wider 255/30R-19 front tires in place of 235/35R-19s that come standard at each corner.
    Motorauthority as well - https://www.motorauthority.com/news/...ut-no-less-fun

There are several others too. If someone here works at Audi maybe they can confirm different fender PN#'s from S3 and RS3.

Do those rs3 winter rubber mats come with the car or a certain package or are they purchased seperately?

Purchased separately...I should've put the part numbers in the video.

8V6061221041 for the front, with the RS3 logos on it. The rear mats are the same as the A3/S3, with no logo on them.
