Rear parking sensors don't work after battery replacement

My new-ish OEM battery wasn't holding a charge, so I had Excelerate swap in a new one under warranty since it was under a year old.

Everything seemed to be working as normal (key fob, auto up/down windows, etc) but I noticed that when I put the car in reverse, the car emits a longer and higher pitched beep. I also noticed the rear parking sensors don't work anymore.

Do the sensors need to be recoded after a battery swap? If so, can someone provide the steps on how to do it?

Mine did this the other day whilst performing some wiring. I unplugged everything and when I put it back the green light flashed in reverse and the sensors stopped working. I didn’t do anything though and after a while they sorted themselves out.

I disconnected my battery recently and didn't need to do anything with the sensors to get them reset afterwards (just the windows up/down and the key fob).

Does anyone know if I can pull error codes for the parking sensors off of VAGCOM?

I have the same issue with my parking sensors. Put in reverse, long beep and they don't work. Been like that ever since I had them "fixed". Taking car to shop soon to have it sorted - will let you know what the issue is when/if they figure it out.

Vag com will tell you exactly which sensors are not working. Changed mine last year in my driveway. Easy when you take the bumper off. Will have to do this again next year as another sensor just went out. Will take you about 30 mInutes to do the job.

Are the replacement sensors expensive? Do they come prepainted or do you have to get them professionally painted?

Not extremely expensive but not cheap either. They come black and yes, you do have to have them painted. I would check to see if one of your sensors is pushed in to the bumper slightly. I have done this on mine by drying it with a towel.
