Great thread and this is helpful for my wife’s 2019 Q5. I saw in an earlier post about emergency braking settings (post #258), and was wondering if you scrolled down and tried enabling the following to get the flashers to come on?

Since you all are more active than Q5 owners, anyone with a U.S./NAR model mess around with coding of their headlights to have full horizontal range of motion? I found the following capabilities under 09. I think to enable, one would need to enable Afs activation so that the headlights will swivel with steering input that goes beyond current limitations due to U.S. regulations. Also curious has anyone enabled City Light and Weather Light (I believe this is the Audi equivalent to Rain Light on VWs).

I’m coming from a 2019 VW Tiguan with Adaptive front lights, but different platform and controllers being accessed. So wondering if one needs to also go to Adaptations under 09 to enable Adaptive Light Functions. I’ve seen videos of people enabling presentation mode, but that’s at a standstill, I want to enable the other functions for greater visibility on dark country roads and in general because U.S. light regulations are behind the times.

My other question is would the Headlamp config in adaptations need to be changed from SAE to ECE? By default NAR Tiguans are ECE not FMVSS (equivalent to SAE).

Also does anyone know if headlights on the B9 platform have the shutters installed for DLA (Dynamic Light Assist)? I know sometimes Not Installed doesn’t always mean that in coding.

If so I’d love to turn this on.

I’m curious if anyone has gone in and turned on these features to get their headlights as close to EU standard as possible. If so I’d love to know what coding was performed. I know from experience on the MQB platform that I’ll need to run Basic Settings to clear errors, but unlike the MQB platform I don’t have any prior base to work off from like I did when I discovered where and how to make changes on that platform by looking at what Golf owners did under module 55.

Sorry if this is long winded, but I plan to apply some additional coding found here to my wife’s Q5, so I thank you all for the information. Just really looking to enhance the front headlight capabilities, but searched this entire thread and others and haven’t found any information. Plus the closest Audi dealer is over an hour away now, so I want to get the coding right so I don’t have to tuck my tail and find an Audi dealer to fix an issue that can’t be fixed. I’ve been fortunate not having to do that with my VW, and not looking to have that experience.

Does anyone know if we can tinker with the brake booster in OBD Eleven? I found a thread on the a3/s3/rs3 forums of people increase the firmness of the pedal and was curious if anyone has tried it out on the S4

    Code:
    Module 03 Brakes
Brake booster : factory set value 4
The lower the value the more firm the pedal
    Set to 1
    Try out.

I was looking to see if there's a way to increase the timer on the how long the rear window defroster stays on? I feel in my car it's super quick where as in my previous Japanese cars it was 5min or more which was obv more effective.

You know if you hold the rear defrost button down for a few seconds, it will then blink and come back on -- and it will stay on until you turn it off manually or turn the car off. Not sure if that helps.

So, I also asked this question in the Ross-Tech forums, and they believe it is being implemented with new model generations, i.e. once the B10 generation comes out.. I'll find out once I get my 21 I guess.

I can answer some of your questions and provide some anecdotes. I am a headlight geek myself, and trust me when I tell you that there isn't much you can do on US vehicles with the regular LED headlights compared to the EU matrix lights. There are very few items that carry over from different platforms (e.g. Tiguans vs Q5).

You can reference some of the coding options on this master Google sheet here. I helped edit this document to assist with the formatting and default/modified values in the event you need to change it back. The "Adaptive Brake Lights" which you referenced in your screenshot does work; there is an example video in there and I have it coded on my vehicle.

Instead of taking over this thread, do you mind if I PM you some direct questions?

I tried the HUD mod on my 2018 Prestige S4, but I didn't see any thing like the oil temp or other stuff that I haven't seen before showing up on the HUD. I haven't driven the car after doing this change.

I also tried looking at the MMI setting for the HUD after the change. There isn't anything new in there to select for the display content.

    Anyone else tried this?

I do not have a B9.5, but you can try the following as it works on the Q8. For animation on the front lights, that will likely require parametrization so this will not be possible with OBDEleven of VCDS.

    Code:
    (46) Comfort System -> Long Coding -> SBBR_variant -> Change from 0 to 1.
Either do this in the dark area (e.g. garage) so the headlights/taillights come on, too, or enable Scandinavian DRL so the animation occurs every time regardless of ambient lighting conditions.

I have a 2020 B9.5 facelift without the matrix led. Would these animation enable mods work on my housings. Or do the matrix leds have totally different DRLS where only they can support the animation?

This is just for animations. I am fairly certain the matrix headlights are different from the standard LED headlights.

There is no "light_scenario" setting in 046-Comfort System for me to make all of the interior lights turn on when the door opens. Anyone else have this issue?

Also, is there a way to disable the park assist sensor image on the back up camera screen so that the back up cam video takes up the entire display instead of being squeezed in?

edit: Gave up looking for the light_scenario setting so I just used 10 credits to do it via an app. Voila! Would still like to see if I can get rear view camera to go full screen.

Isn’t that an MMI setting? Or if memory serves, it’s done when it is actually backing up? I’m assuming you have the 360 camera?

If anyone happens to figure out how to get it to remember the status of the heated steering wheel between starts, it would be appreciated.. My 2018 S4 remembered it, my 2021 defaults to off with each start.

I only have the rear view camera and the parking sensors. I'm pretty sure I don't have the 360 camera...? New car for me so still learning it. Just found out yesterday that the MMI dial is also a joy stick lol

So i have a 2020 S4 (facelift) with no matrix LEDs. Obviously the rear tails do the sweeping animation when unlocking and signaling. I was wondering if there was any way of changing the animation through OBD. Ive tried the one option for 100 credits and it didnt make a difference.
I dont expect the front to have any animations because i dont hvae matrix LEDS.

    Thanks!

This was a typo in the Google doc.. This long coding setting is in 09-Central Electrics and NOT in 46. I edited the document with the correction. Same settings - change to "not active" if you want all the lights to come on when the door is open. "active" will only turn on the lights of the doors that open.

Is there any way for obd 11 or vcds to extend the key range? It’s so bad I have to be within 10ft to unlock/lock the car

Have you seen the Google doc with changes for the b9? There are codings there to increase the range -- keep in mind that doing so will shorten the battery life on the fob a bit.
