A little info about myself:
My name's Ashton. I'm 22 and I'm studying Mechanical Engineering with an Aerospace concentration at UConn. I graduated from my local community college with an Associates of Science in Engineering Science, and I'm working at UTC Collins Aerospace as a Manufacturing Operations Engineer while I finish up my Bachelor's.
I just moved out of my parents' house in May, and my budget isn't the biggest, so progress on here may be slow at times. The majority of my mods are whatever deals I can find on parts on various online sites, so long as they fit into my vision for my car.
I've been on here for the last couple years posting misc pictures of my cars occasionally, and I feel like it's high time to kick of my own build thread.
As some of you may be aware, prior to my current Red B7, I owned a Quartz B7 A4 (sadly automatic) for nearly three years before it met its end this past January due to an unfortunate cam follower failure prior to my ownership that destroyed my head and oil pump over time. Instead of fixing her up, I cut my losses and purchased a different car in a color I prefer and, most importantly, had a proper transmission. It had some work and modifications (namely a K04 turbo upgrade, along with supporting mods) done to it prior to the time of my purchase which was an additional plus (unfortunately this work wasn't all done up to snuff and has caused me some headaches since).
Here was the old girl, this is the oldest, most stock, photo I could find. It looks like she just had an eBay trunk lip and black window trim at the time:

In her heyday:

With my Dad's 8v A3 (the addiction runs in the family):

DTM rear:

After my previous car died, I was in a time crunch to get a new car, as my B7 is my daily driver (and only car). Fortunately I lucked out and quickly found a car that was exactly what I was looking for, and only a few short hours away in Clifton, NJ. Couple shots from the day I got her:

It was not long at all before I started to mod this one as well. I had a whole slew of parts from my old car that were itching to be re-comissioned. I threw on my black optics RS4 grille, black mirror caps and swapped the bixenons that came on the car to the ones I had been refurbishing for my last car.

Some nice frosty shots:

When my taxes came in, I swung down to aluthman's parts emporium and scooped up some recaros. Best. Upgrade. Ever. If you're at all on the fence about these, do it. They are 1,000,000x more comfortable than the stock seats and really hold you in place whilst driving aggressively.
Some cool B7's:

The Recaros:

Met up with Joe/Impulse and traded some parts for these LED tails. They don't look awful, but I was not a fan of the clear look.

A little red Lamin-x took care of that rather nicely. They're a little smokier than stock, but not crazy at all. It breaks up the rear and still looks mostly OEM. Gives the rear end just a little more modern of a feel IMO.

Installed:

Shortly after, I blacked out my window trim to match the grille. She's looking mighty fine at this point, but unfortunately I had to wait a little longer before throwing the summer wheels on.
