Radio volume control "currently unavailable"

Has anyone ever seen this one? I cant adjust the volume from the center console or steering wheel. It comes up on the screen saying currently unavailable.

Try the 3 finger reset?
Locate button: SETUP button. big control knob. upper-right soft button.
Press and hold those button at the same time.
After two seconds release buttons. Audi MMI screen will go black for few seconds and system will reboot.

Yes i've seen it pop up on occasion.. It usually resolves itself. I always listen to Sirius so it may have something to do with the sat radio updating.
You can also try turning the radio off and back on by holding down the volume knob.

Happened to me once. Seemed like it was updating channel list or something and became hung up. All other sources worked and you could adjust the volume there, and it would stay when you go back to XM, but wouldn't be able to adjust when you switched back. Car restart fixed it within seconds for me.

The station list updated this am. That may have been part of it. Ill try when i go to lunch.

Happened to me this morning after Sirius update. Volume controls still work listening to radio, just not Sirius. Odd.

Mine did the same, and it was also good by lunch..
However -- It somehow also deleted all my darn presets... So that was annoying.

Usually happens during and maybe after Sirius update (still going on in background). Comes back by itself after the update is complete or next time I start up the car.

I have experienced it occasionally when I start the car. It corrects itself within 10 seconds.

when you are starting up the system is loading from the uber slow harddrive so not lot of things and processes have started so it shows as unavailable.

Mine too. All presets gone, volume wouldn't change the whole 25 min trip yo work.

Me too - sure seems to be sirius related. Happened several times - volume only unavailable on Sirius (ok on both FM and SD/jukebox). Next time car starts get a message that Sirius subscription has been updated and volume works again for it. 2x have lost the presets, also seem to be around Sirius update.

Happened to me 4 times when Sirius updates execute. Next cold start I am always fine.

The volume won't work for Sirius. I have to switch to radio and adjust volume then switch back to Sirius.

It always works itself out. I imagine it's a sirius issue only when updating channel list

It's not Sirius related. Mine's been doing it for 30 min now and I only steam music via my iPhone and Bluetooth.

Happened to me too. Seems line during an update to Sirius. I hard re set the MMI. It came back to normal. Check manual for your hard reset procedure. It's the bottom left, center button and upper right button to hard reset I think.
