Oil pressure light on then engine dies, NEED EXPERTS ADVICE!!!!!

Alright, so, last night, I started up my car(Audi A4 B7 '07), around 10, everything seemed normal. Halfway home, I heard clunking sounds, the same sounds you'd hear on an old car. I decided to check it out by driving it around for a while with windows down and music off. After 5 mins, the Oil Pressure light came up on the screen. 15-25 seconds ltr I heard a bang, like something fell off the car (luckly nothin did) the oil pressure light turned off, and the EPC light came on and my engine shut down. Opened the hood and light smoke was comin out and engine oil too. I was terrified cuz this was my first car and I had only recently modded the car (B&B exhaust, rims, APR 1) and didn't want to spend $ for a new engine. Once I got it towed home, I checked the engine if it could run. just cranked real quick and it was cranking. What do I do with my car?!?!? and how can it be fixed, if at all possible?!?!

NOTE: The reason I was checkin it, was cuz three weeks earlier, I was comin home and I heard the same sounds but nothing happened then. Other things to note, 170k kilometers on it, non-sline, has had oil problems before that it would leak when car was off but has been fixed months ago, and APR was done months ago so I highly doubt that caused it

You said engine oil was coming out with light smoke?
    Be more detailed.

Does the engine have enough oil?
    Enough coolant?

    What kind of loud noise?
You should not have drove it that long.

Last winter when it was very cold, the oil had a thin layer of ice and could not be sucked up by the oil pickup tube, so no lubrication.
Had a shop drop the oil pan and the “fix” was to use the updated oil pickup tube.
Due to no oil, engine sounded like a large diesel truck, very noticeable that something was wrong.
Only drove it 10 ft like that.

Clunking could well be a conrod bearing worn, excessive play. If the motor is loaded in this state, it’s possible to throw a rod, smashing a hole in the block.

You’ll need to be a bit more detailed in your explanation, though. And examine the block carefully, on both sides.

So when the car died and came to a stop, smoke was comin under the hood and once i got out to look, underneath was oil leaking out. The source that i can roughly identify was on the left side of the engine bay under it or so. A few days ago, i had topped off the oil aswell with 1 small spill, but it was on the top of the engine, not on the left, coolant i had also filled up on the same day as oil

Sounds almost like a conrod has windowed the block on the left. You’re going to have to get in there, and take a look.

As for the loud noise, it sounded like a bang as if somthing had fallen off the car, but during the drive, it was some kind of clanking sound

But as for that part, from old posts, most of them stem from a recent oil change

Spun rod bearing. Spun badly enough that it threw a rod through the block.

I’d bet you likely broke a balance shaft, seized the oil pump, lost oil pressure, and spun the rod bearing a few weeks ago. Then driving it for a while, it finally let go and took a piece of the block with it.

Best case scenario, new bottom end. Worst case scenario, complete new engine. Happened to my race car this summer (because of 8300rpm downshifts and high g cornering). Mine didn’t throw a rod through the block, but the engine was hanked.

So, in short, it’s binned. Start looking for an engine.

So if it took out the bottom of the engine, how was my engine still able to crank after it happened?

An engine will still crank with a hole in it. You very well could’ve broken a balance shaft and put it through the oil pan.

Hell, my race car still started, ran, and sounded fine after I hanked the oil pump. It wasn’t until after it warmed up that the noises started back.

Sadly, your engine is probably toast. Same thing happened to this a4 I picked up for parts. Balance shaft failure, and the rest is history.. :/
