High Pressure Fuel Pump Line Fitting

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello all,

Maybe an obvious question but it looks like my driver side High Pressure fuel pump has a leak from the smaller 14mm fitting that connects to it. Is it possible to buy just the brass fitting that connects the line to the pump or do I have to buy a whole fuel pump? Or does anyone know if it's possible to buy a get a generic fitting from a hose shop or something?

Or, better yet....if someone on here has an old fuel pump that they'd be willing to take the fitting off of and sell to me!

I just replaced my fuel pump and still have the old one on the work bench. I'll take a look to see if it can be removed.

From my experience you have to buy the whole pump. I go to ebay and buy a used one. Hopefully purplehaze can help you out.

I’d look at both sides of the fitting first. Maybe there’s damage or debris on the male side of the compression fitting (under the tube nut).

You can try to reverse engineer the fitting. You already know the line side is M14 (probably 1.5 thread but still need to measure). I’d remove the fitting and do the same with the pump side and also look at the sealing method against the pump (e.g. aluminum crush washer, o-ring, tapered seat, etc.).

I can probably look at it this coming weekend since I have one of the pumps off.

Hmm yea thanks for the replies. Looks like I'd have to buy the whole pump unless you can get your old one out purplehaze. It should come off pretty easily, I did manage to get the fitting off of mine, it just comes out of the pump with a 14mm flare wrench. Doesn't look like there's anything special to it or how it's mated to the pump....just a normal brass fitting. 14 on one side and I didn't measure the other side but looks like it's probably a 17.

They're replaceable, but you can't seem to buy them anywhere. I don't get it, why make a fitting replaceable, but not offer a part number for it?

Anyway, the fittings seem to be the same on most FSI HP pumps, on a friend's RS4, we used the HP fitting off an old 2.0TFSI unit that the dealer had laying around.

That's good info...I might be able to find one of those at a junkyard or something.

I stripped mine pretty bad when doing a carbon clean and looked for days trying to find one. I ended up buying a used fuel pump from an A6 on eBay with the exact same fitting for $46.

I did the same. Couldn't find a replacement so I had mine rethreaded and so far so good. Stripped the 14 and the 17 on the right fuel pump haha

Not sure if this helps, the brass fitting apparently exists... yet to be confirmed... but look up vw audi part number 03C127065C ... the car in question is 2009 A4 B8 Avant 2.0T CAEB engine... I gave the dealer the vin number and asked them for the brass fuel fitting that connects the fuel line to the HPFP (because I have a fuel in that area) and that part number is what they have me...

When I took fuel rail off I noticed the exact same fitting is also used on the other end on fuel rail. Maybe that can be bought?
