    A5 Interior?

I can get a smoking deal on an A5, has all the options I'm looking for. It's about a three hours drive for me so I can't just pop over and look at it with my own eyes. There is one "problem" it has the dark wooden inlays in the interior of the car. The rest of the cars interior is all black, black headliner and black leather (sline package).

My question: does anyone have this dark wooden inlay in their current 18' Audi A5? Is it as contrasted and overwhelming as it seems in the pictures? Based off the pictures it would be my last choice for the inlay, but the deal is very attractive. My current 13' A5 has the dark wooden inlays but it has a matte finish and blends into the rest of the cars interior quite well. This new inlay seems like it's a high gloss finish that stands out a bit more and looks distracting.

Just hoping to get some thoughts on that inlay option!

    Thanks!

Depending on the deal, it's pretty easy to change out those inlays(although a bit pricey) or getting them wrapped in your choice of finish. People are doing it on here all the time. I;m not a big fan of the faux wood either, but if the deal was good, you can remedy the situation after market.

I have the same inlays in my 2018 Q5. They suck, but I got a good deal. I'll likely just wrap them though

Thanks, that's what I was worried about, it ain't purdy.

I called my local guy about getting them wrapped, he said he could do it but it'd be a pain in the ass (like you mentioned). And he didn't know what it would cost for me to get an idea if it was worth the trouble. The more I thought about it, I didn't wanna go that route since I'll be leasing. It's almost 12% off MSRP which is why I'm considering it.

But I'm thinking I wanna love everything about this car when I finally pull the trigger...amazing deal or no deal.

    Thanks again!

I hope it wont cost that much lol. OEM trim replacements for my Q5 when I looked into it was about $1700 for the Ash Grey (best color IMO). If you're getting the coupe 2 less doors for the trim, but still likely well over 1k to swap. Hope that helps

That's does help! That's more than I was hoping for, but good to know.

Agreed, love the ash grey. Blends so well with the black interior which I love.

    Thanks again for your help!

Yaa. you can get all the pricing on Audi USA

What were you getting quoted to wrap it. I'm not sure as to how difficult it is to take apart the dash and wrap those small pieces. Maybe try to remove them yourself cutting out the labor?

My car has the grey oak inlay. I found the standard metal or the high gloss walnut too reflective and distracting specially with the moon roof screen open. I opted for the grey oak just because of that.

The grey oak inlays are by far the best ones in the A5. I really wish they offered them in the S cars.
