Anyone else here have Quartz Grey Metallic?

Going through the "What did you do" thread every day and just general posts around here, it doesn't seem like this was a very popular color choice. Coming from an Imola B5, which I loved, I really only chose this color because it had everything else I wanted.

Just kind of looking for inspiration for some exterior mods since I don't think it would look good with the blacked out theme, and I do love the chrome mirrors. Also, very conflicted on changing the grill, since the RS style seems too popular at this point. Anyways.

Definitely looks better blacked out than I would've guessed, and I love the rear spoiler. I want one, but not sure if it would go with the car unless I go the full blacked out route like you have.

Initially I had 2 one carbon fiber and the other flat black to be color coded with the car. When I opted for the carbon fiber diffuser I elected to keep the carbon fiber spoiler which flows nicely with the car

Also have a Quartz. It wasn't my favorite color upon acquisition, but it has grown on me. The variety in the color under different light has changed my opinion of it.

This is the grey I wanted but couldn't find in a B8.5. It looks even better in person than in photos. ... BTW, I am jealous that you came from Imola Yellow.

I do agree with you, I didn't love it at first, but definitely appreciate the depth and flake in person. I will also say, I do like the anonymity that comes along with the grey after having the Yellow car for 5 years. Here she is in all her glory

Quartz grey seems to be a not very common color, and it is not an option on the s4 after 2012 iirc.

It has multiple personalities depending on the lighting and I love it! My next mods will be amber deletes, wrapping the roof gloss black, and painted black diffuser.

I was conflicted on the RS grille when I first got the car but within a few months of ownership I ordered it. Completely transforms the front end. Do that first!

Nice rides!! I was saying the same thing when I purchased my S4. The main objective was a 6MT. Anything else was icing on the cake!

kinda miss my quartz... much easier to keep clean than my current estoril
to echo what a few other guys said, quartz was not my first choice but it grew on me
i don't the full black out look, but do agree that the car needs come contrast
i painted my stock valance black, blacked out the orange reflectors, painted the whole calipers black, tinted the windows, blacked out the stock grille (the rs grille got washed out), and added a black lip spoiler

(sorry for the shitty pics)

Next year I’ll work on the BBK to add some color. Most likely I’ll go Stoptech or the RS5 kit

so happy you just posted this. I've been very curious about making the grill black, but keeping the chrome outline. I think that may be the way to go for me.

i really liked it... the RS grille got washed out, and the stock platinum grey matched the body color too much. didn't want to do the BO grille becuase then the grille wouldnt match.

they are already black arent they? with that being said, they faded at times so i used some spraypaint to touch them up and keep them dark

Quartz grey here, and wow - it sure looks different than my 2010. In some lighting I swear my car looks more anthracite or even light brown colored.
EDIT: Called Audi of America with VIN, was told she has no name for the color or code, only that it was an "exclusive" color. Not sure how to find out name of the color, all along I thought it was quartz grey because that's what the Mercedes dealer had it listed as when I purchased it.

EDIT #2: Local Audi dealer verified color as daytona grey pearl, sorry for poking my head in this thread where I do not belong.
