Any shops produce an WATER-to-AIR intercooler systems for our cars? Looking for a kit...willing to to the piping fab work from turbo myself. Just ideally looking for a mounting or bolt in solution for the core, water tank, and pump.

Never seen one that is specific to our cars, but that is definitely not to say they don't exist.

My buddy did an air to water setup on his Jetta. I think he got a generic kit from frozenboost.com and did a bit of fabrication to make it work. I'll touch base with him and check what the story was... It was a few years ago so details are foggy.

Thinking about this myself as a compact solution this past week after seeing and reading about the systems in the newer GLA 45 AMG, M3/4,... etc.
Its gonna pretty much be a custom/generic deal with piping to a tank/pump the rear, wiring for the pump, suitable coolant/antifreeze.
The main part would be a heat exchanger/intercooler to fit in the OEM location and still be 500-600hp capable without front mounting (if possible).

Frozen boost has parts you can use to fab up. Make sure you buy the Bosche pump and not their ghetto fish tank pump. You might want to look into custom making a side mount heat exchanger to go where the SMIC is now. I have not seen one yet that looks like a perfect fit.

yeah...that's the idea...i emailed a bunch of core manufacturers but none offer anything in the dimensions that would fit. there was one available, but it only supported 400hp or so. my buddy said he'd love to weld up a kit for me, but without having significant downtime i'd much rather prefer a bolt on affair.

surprising shops like RAI, Eurocode, etc haven't ever offered a setup for us.

maybe i should buy this and have my buddy fab up mounting tabs? honestly want a core that can support more than 600hp though. i think the frozen boost kits are rated higher than what they actually should be. the same size Spearco Core is rated at 400hp...and that is crank HP.

Always loved the idea of this, especially if it's built for racing. Low pressure drop, more throttle response, can drop some ice in at the track.
