Is it a known problem that the amazon music app won’t play music on this unit? I can see it buffer the song over 4G/LTE but when I press the play button the circle just spins and doesn’t play, same for online and local stored songs in the amazon music app.

Is it safe to restore the unit to factory settings which I hope will remove everything installed since I received it?

I have completed a factory reset, no issues at all. Go for it.

Yesterday I tried something different and did not look really bad I think. Until the official launcher will be more customizable, it's a variant ...

    Thanks.

I tried Carwebguru and Car Launcher AG but they´re not as suitables for scrolling control as Car Launcher Pro.

Thanks again. Have you got a "clean" background so I can (try to) Photoshop an Avant?

Car Launcher Pro running, it allows wheel control and full customization. Just an option before applying second update and see how it works.

Does anyone know if these units would be compatible with a External DAB tuner such as the Joying DAB+...ETC

Since our device do support USB OTG, any USB OTG supported DAB+ will work. As far as I know that one is working over USB using OTG, and you need to install their app.

I'd love to test it if we can check the functionality, but neither the factory nor myself is in DAB+ area...

but...we already have it thanks to canbus...
I assume that this is an add-on for units that do not integrate with the car's canbus...

I have no idea if it is for the ones without canbus, but I mainly refer to the 4 functions assigned to each button of steering weels. That would be great for those without MMI

It looks interesting, and certainly doable thing, but you are gonna regret when you open the steering wheel to do that.
The huge problem is how you are going to pass a wire to the steering wheel? Steering turns 3 times end to end - which means, any wire passing it will be twisted left to right and copper wires do not like twisting. So there is something called 'clock spring' that allow every electric wires stay connected even if the steering itself turns million times. So passing 4 wire thru the clock spring... is going to be a headache. Also, don't forget there is the airbag. It may ignite the airbag, if any passing wires shorts. FYI, Audi's steering buttons use only one line to communicate with CANBUS. That's called something like LIN bus.

    But,
The whole point of the next software update is to make it better for concert radio people.
What we are going to do is changing the left roller key behaviour from up and down, prev. to next.
In this way, thing will be much easier to use with steering buttons. For example, in the latest released software, you can't access all numbers in the dial pad of our BT caller app with steering buttons because it's only moving up and down. But this will be all accessible by the left roller button of steering wheels.

So, just wait, and I will make better.

Anybody have any issues where on start, it keeps switching to the original audi interface? When I press on the screen it goes away for half a second then immediately comes back. And basically keeps happening over and over again until I restart the car. Which then solves the problem.

Doesn't seem to happen every outing. Just every once in a while.

Are you updated to try latest MCU version? I had the same problem, doing the update and fixing the parking sensor key selection solved it.

AA can be connected over wifi as well, but in that case, performance is not optimal. I'd like to know if USB DAC is something you can't give up or not.

I am trying to get a sample with multiple USB ports, but not sure when can I get it.
Hi Daniel ,You have some news about usb DAC sound or at least, the next release will be routed (viper4android) ?

I'll try out the parking key setting. I had turned it on when I was trying to troubleshoot when my trajectory lines stopped working on the reverse camera and never turned it back off.

Im assuming you mean the trajectory lines not moving with the wheel. Daniel had replied saying that it was a canbus-related bug that would be addressed in an update.

Mine eventually started working again. I can't point to any particular action that I did to get them back. They just one day came back.

Incidentally the action that I had performed directly before it started working, and it was not working immediately prior was that I had switched my save location for Spotify from SD card to internal to troubleshoot issues with my downloaded playlists always disappearing. I'm about 99% sure that was just coincidence.

    Yes, it's a coincidence.
As far as I know, canbus ocassionally runs somekind of reset and once this happen it seems PDC comes back, or it may be our own canbus decoder gets faulty that as mostly a software update makes it come back to life. This didn't happen in our early days, but it have started as we start to tweak canbus for other things. Still investigating.

Daniel any chance you guys can have the bluetooth voice (calling) volume setting maxed as default in the new update. Its really soft when speaking to someone, and you need to go into the Volume Settings app every time you make/receive a call. After the call is finished and you get another call at a later stage you need to go into Volume Settings again and increase the volume.

Or even a volume slider in the Bluetooth app will help.

It doesn't help using the steering volume or the radio volume to increase it because you amplifying a week sound source (this increases line noise)

I couldn't find if this was mentioned elsewhere, but how is the USB connector handled? I'm currently getting my device installed, but I'm not sure how or where the USB is suppose to go. Is it suppose to go into the glove box, and if so, will a hole need to be drilled?

once the glove box has been remove it will be very easy to find whichever little opening at the back is the best suited to fit the USB extension through...
