    "Gluing" Brake Pad to Caliper?

I've searched, but didn't find anything absolute.

Is there a specific or special adhesive to use when replacing the front brake pads? I've read that the outboard pad is "glued" to the caliper.

I think that's optional. My stoptech pads didn't come with adhesive on the outer pad. Apply some grease and you're good to go.

Akebono pads here. No glue, just grease that comes with the pads. No noise.

Thank you. I'll try the grease.
