    Custom built "RS6 Sedan" - A6 SKR

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello,

My name is Claudiu and I'm from Romania. Here is my build thread. Instagram @claudiuvasiu for who is interested in more pictures.
I had another thread around here but somehow lost it. Much has been done to my A6 since the last time I posted.
My goal was to build a "RS6 Sedan" like Audi should have done it. During the whole project only OEM parts were used since I didn't want that aftermarket feeling.

I will try to make the story as short as possible.

The whole journey began in the end of 2015 when i bought my A6 BiTDI 313hp Moonlight Blue. Although i was considering also an S6, i was impressed by the specs on this car. It has the comfort seats with ventilation and masage, air suspension, sport diferential, acoustic windows, softclose, Bose and other things.

I was switching from another A6 C7 but 2.0TDI 177hp. I knew I was going to change mostly everything on the outside, so i only looked for one with my desired interior options.

Pictures from the day i bought it:

The first things on the list were:
    -LED Headlights.
    -RS6 front bumper, grills, etc.
    -RS6 front fenders (approximately 3.5cm wider/each side).
-25mm spacers/wheel on the front axle due to the wider fenders.
-RS6 rear diffuser and exhaust trims adapted on a normal A6 bumper.
    -19" Audi A7 wheels.

Here is a photo to notice the difference the RS6 fenders make. Left is without spacers on a 8J ET26 wheel and right is with a 25mm spacer.

Next was time for other stuff:
    -AG M510 21" 10.5J ET43 + Michelin Pilot Super Sport 265/30/21
-Air suspension module to control it from the mobile phone using wifi.

A short before/after at this stage:

    Some witer pictures:

Very nice Claudiu! Really digging the sunroof delete. Man I wish we had the option to delete it over here. So unfair. Fat and lazy Americans want all their stupid amenities!

What does she run in the 1/4 mile?

Does anyone make a turbo upgrade for the turbo diesel? That would be pretty slick.

Looks like you have the same 7-stronic transmission as us S6 owners? Do you happen to know what the gear ratios and final drive ratio is? I bought a used RS5 trans for my S6 which I'm planning on installing sometime soon on my quest for the single digits.

Then it was christmas time and I dedicated my whole budget for car parts. At that time I was obsessed by the idea that my A6 is wider in the front as in the back since I had normal A6 fenders. So the hunt for RS6 parts began.
    Some parts involved are:
    -RS6 side panels
    -RS6 rear doors
    -2xRS6 rear bumper
-RS6 rear diffusor with exhaust trims
    -RS6 side skirts
    -RS6 fuel cap
    -S6 rear trunk spoiler
-30mm spacers/wheel on the rear axle

At this point the bodywork on the rear side began. Nothing is plug and play since the RS6 pannels, doors and bumper are designed for an Avant. everything had to be adapted.

Then I had to chose the color. After sleepless nights i have finally decided on the factory RS6 Sepang Blue. My request to the bodyshop was to paint everyting inside-out.

And this is the end result:

    Again a quick recap before/after:

And at the end a side by side with a real RS6 Avant:

As far as I know (and i have done some research).
There are only 6 "RS6 Sedan" complete body transformations existing in the world.
    - 2x in Romania
    - 1x in Austria
    - 1x in Germany
    - 1x in Russia
    - 1x in Finland

It is an ongoing project and I hope I haven't bored you and that I will come back with updates.
    Best regards from Austria!

    @Rudolfo
I only did three runs once. Later found out that my MAF sensor was faulty. Anyways it did 13.3s with everything inside (also my luggage since I was travelling at that time). I measured it in that condition with the faulty MAF at around 350hp and 750Nm.

There are some companies offering such turbo upgrades but I'm still thinking since I might consider a engine swap in the future....then it would be all for nothing. With modified turbos and everything they are capable of 11.9x seconds. On the BiTDI it is another transmision compared to 3.0TFSI or S6.
I have the ZF tiptronic 8hp55 with 8 gears. It is said that they used this gearbox because the S-Tronic could not withstand the torque that this diesel engine is generating (650Nm stock). I still don't know the limits of this gearbox; some say 1000Nm, others 800Nm. Another reason why I didn't concentrate on the engine upgrades.

I have at home also a TT 2.0TFSI Quattro Stronic 2016 pushing at the moment 340hp and 500nm. 0-100 km/h at around 3.7/3.8s and 100-200km/h at <11s. This one will receive a turbo upgrade and other goodies --> target is 500hp.

Sweet! I would definitely do a 4.0T swap with RS6 turbos! The used parts over there in Europe are so plentiful and cheap that it makes that kind of swap pretty appealing. Man that car would move with that kind of swap and custom MRC tuning. I bet it would be 300-400lbs lighter than a US spec RS7! Has the potential to run 9's if you do it right!

I have a 2015 A3 2.0T Quattro with the same engine and trans as your TT. The MQB is an amazing platform. With a $500 IS38 bolt-on turbo from the S3/TTS/Golf R, guys are trapping as high as 200 KMH in the 1/4 mile. Insane!

Rolling video on the way to Wörthersee. For those who don't know, it is one of the biggest events here in Europe. It began as a Golf GTI meeting and now is a mainly VAG group meeting.

    @Rudolfo
Exactly! then you know what I'm talking about. Revo is now offering a hybrid IS38 capable of 500hp with stock engine internals.
I already have the Milltek complete exhaust (De-CAT) and the VWRacing R600 CAI. I just need the Wagner intercooler and the bolt-on turbo upgrade.

I sure do! Did you feel much of a difference with the de-cat and CAI? Like the 4.0T, exhaust and intake modifications seem to do very little on the MQB platform at stock turbo and IS38 turbo power levels. Your TT and my A3 actually have the same intake and downpipe as the R/S3/TTS. They flow pretty well. Can you squeeze another 10-15 HP out with the IS38 with CAI and exhaust mods? Possibly. I'm going with an IS38, stock exhaust and OEM R/S3/TTS intercooler on mine. I don't trust any of those hybrid IS38 turbos! These IHI turbos (IS38 and IS20) don't seem very reliable at higher boost levels. I'm gonna just run the IS38 at 25psi on around E50 and call it a day. Should be a pretty quick little daily. :-)

Wouldn't be a clone since no C7 RS6 saloon exists. It was never produced. But yeah he seems to have all of the RS6 Avant aesthetics. Looks pretty slick.

Do you have a link/build thread? more pictures?
From what i can tell, he used also the RS6 rear pannels/doors and sideskirts. So I think you are right. Haven't heard about this build, thanks. The color is also interesting, it was one of my options when I decided to go for Sepang blue.

Don’t have links to thread but if it’s the one I think the conversion was done by a company called NGP on the east coast. Car looks great in person, even put in RS turbos if I remember correctly.

I was told by a tech at Audi of Hoffman Estates, Ill that the owner was getting upgrades to his tune and a new set of wheels. Car started life as an S6.

Is this your car. Great job. If this car had of debuted at SEMA all of the nay sayers would be calling the production garage or their dealership for pricing and availability. Once again, keep modding!

Wow, I'm surprised you haven't heard of Fast4DRs car until now. I started following him years ago, hell after he first installed an RS6 Grill forever ago is what got me to hunt one down. The only person who could technically have a true RS6 would be cmg_r as he also has the engine and drivetrain, but this one is pretty damn close.

New to forums. Only been member for a month. I feel that all mods are done to take the owner to a new level of looks and performance and also separate their car from others.

That Car at Audi with the Illinois plate is not Fast4DRs car, it is a local guy here in Chicago I know. The car did start out a stock 15 S6. It was all done using Oem Parts from Europe. He did the 16 Headlights and Taillight, I remember him saying it wasn't easy. I saw the car the other day actually street parked. It looks great in person, he is running stock Rs6 21's. Ill try to take a picture next time I see it.

It's just ridiculous how people waste car, you made sedan by cutting and pasting parts of another car, did you thought about safety? Don't try to make something that was not done by Audi factory!

C'mon aistis72. Let's appreciate fantastic craftsmanship. Imitation is the highest form on respect to the original artist. Just consider how many world renown artists, such as Van Gogh, have had their art knocked off and line the walls of many homes!

@seandon_792: The big difference between the S6 and the RS6 in terms of drivetrain is unfortunatelly the gearbox. The RS6 has a 8gear tiptronic gearbox from ZF. As far as I know, the S-Tronic from the S6 won't be able to withstand the high torque that the RS generates.

@Gwillplays: Then I will have to update my list with another car, this time from the USA.

@highPSI-S4: This is not the same car. I am aware of Fast4DR's project. Athough the car looks stunning and was the first with RS6 front I didn't add it to my list because the rear is not made with RS6 pannels, doors, sideskirts, bumper. He widened the rear arches only without modifying the other parts. If Fast4DR reads this... thank you for the info! although you advised me not to start cutting the car, i couldn't help it :D.

@GameBreaker: I agree with you, this would be at the moment the only true RS6. I am in contact with cmg_r and he helped me with a lot of info along the project since I started some months after him. Actually my front bumper, gills and headlights used to be his. Still haven't seen his car live but we've been in contact a lot.

@DoItAllGarage: I made it in steps, so for the rear body was around two months including painting. Most demanding job was matching the doors and creating the rear bumper from an A6 Sedan and an RS6 Avant bumper.

@aistis72: I would like to say that i don't agree with you. I should add that I work in the automotive industry as an engineer for one of the "big players". Althugh my field is not safety, the guys are in the office nextdoor.
The rear fenders that I cut have no structural importance. They are simply made of a sheet of metal of <1mm. If you think this helps in case of an accident, I can say that you could bend this with hand if you wanted to.
The only structural components would be the rear doors. That's why we kept the frame of the door intact. about the sideskirts and the rear bumper I don't think we need to talk since they are made out of plastic. Maybe the new RS6 fuel cap could have an influence :))))

This is exactly what I tried to do. To make something that was not done by Audi! Trust me that we the money invested until now, I could've traded to a RS6. But then RS6 Avants are a lot here in Europe. Sedans are....welll now 7.
I agree that the 4.0TT is more fun... but I hope that my project is not yet finished . My dream is that I will be able to follow cmg_r all the way. Until then, I will enjoy it as it is.

Thank you all for the comments. I hope i will have something to add to this thread soon

Here is the VIN number: WAUF2BFC7EN097528 on that 2014 Audi S6 - RS6 U.S Build. Looks like it was just sold this summer. I wonder for how Much? I also was parked next to it at a car show last year.
