Yeah I was worried about that while installing, but I'm not quite sure how it would crack after its installed. Went in just fine.

Thinking about getting that 034 heatshield and putting that high temp tape under it like someone here did just as a precaution.

Check this out before you buy the Eventuri. They might have some flow issues with it at high RPM
Go to 10:00 min in the video

All anybody really needs is to replace the tube going from the stock airbox to the turbo inlet, which you can buy for $150-200.

After spending $1,300 I don’t think anyone would be happy with having to pay anything else on top of that. At least not me. They should of reinforced that area and have included a heatshield etc.

Are you stating that the only restriction in the intake system lies in the rear tube going from the turbo inlet to the factory air box?

How long does it usually take before the tune in ready for flashing?
I bought my tune last week and I can see it's available in my Unitronic account but when I try to flash I only get this error message.

This is something that we are working on since the way you purchased the cable without the software makes it a bit more difficult.

You sent me the email on 18th with information needed, please give us a couple business days and we will get you taken care of 👍. Fyi we are closed on Monday for a national holiday.

Does that intercooler stay below the crash bar completely? Or is it the same size as all the others on the market?

I just did an IC upgrade on my car and I noticed that the upper mount point you see on the IC is where the lower part of the crash bar goes. So everything above these mount point will be covered by the crash bar.
But if there are some distance between the crash bar and the IC then you can apply the 45 degree rule of thumb.

Ex. If the height of the crash bar is 20cm then you need a distance of 10cm to the IC for it to give sufficient cooling by the 45 degree rule of thumb. (if my math is correct of course)

Hello, I have a 2018 RS3 with 5k miles. Upgrades are: Unitronic stage 1+ ECU and stage 2 DCU tune with turbo inlet. APR Mid pipes and intercooler. IE cold air intake. I have the APR down pipe but waiting on Uni stage 2 ECU tune to be released before I can install. I do not wish to use e85 fuel. I didnt know what I was doing when i started upgrading. If I had it to do all over I would have bought all parts/upgrades from one compay such as Unitronic, Iroz or APR.*
Does anyone think it will cause me performance issues by having upgrades from different manufacturers?
Does anyone know if the Unitronic stage 2 ecu tune will have the option to use 93 gas or do i have to use e85 and upgrade injectors once I do the stage 2 tune? Also, does anyone know when Unitronic stage 2 ECU tune will be available ?

Uni stage 2 will have multiple fuel option. With no injector you wont be able to use e85. So go stage 2 w/o injector and you can use 91/93 octane

While we recommend all of our hardware for our tunes, I dont see you having any issues with another manufacturers downpipe.

stage 2 files will be available without upgraded injectors if you want to use 91 or 93 octane.

A little birdie told me that some new software should be announced soon!

Hey Brian or John. Not sure if you can comment or not(not sure why you wouldn't be able to) but I posted a thread about iats and timing tables. Would either of you be able.to comment on at what intake temps does the tune start to change to different timing tables, I'm thinking in regards to like sitting in staging lanes after passes or even in heavy traffic, just wondering if you could share any info. Thanks

You should ensure IAT's are as low as possible. Obviously the lower the IAT, the better the vehicle will perform. A quality intercooler should allow the vehicle to perform within ideal operating ranges.

I mean I think we are all aware that we want the IATs as low as possible, thats a given. But in reality, we all know that at the track and in heavy traffic, without air flow the iats rise pretty quick especially in summer heat because of where the iat sensor is placed. I mean if an air to air intercooler is running at 100% efficiency (which is impossible), the lowest we could get the charge temp would be is that of the ambient temp. So is someone living in say arizona in the summer with 100+ ambient temps starting at a less aggressive timing table than say someone living in the 80s? Im just wondering if you could shed a little light on specific temperatures that when the ECU sees, it starts you off in a different timing table. What is the ideal operating range? That's all, if you cant, then I guess you can't. This is more a knowledge thing than anything else.

You're absolutely correct that somebody in 30+*C ambient conditions will be at a disadvantage using an air to air intercooler. Ideal operating range is certainly as low as possible, but most quality intercoolers should be capable of keeping IAT's in the 30-40*C range, give or take, depending on ambient conditions. If you stay within that range, you won't encounter any ECU compensations.

It is crazy that you guys haven't officially released the ethanol tune (Stage 1 ) yet. I see, IE with their E-85 , 034 with their E-85, APR with their E-85, JB4, Custom code also..... what is the hold up? I am running your E-85, lots of people are, but why not release it? Are you guys still fine tuning the calibration? I don't get it.
8V RS3 [email protected] mph (ran a few 11.7s stock and ran 118+mph several times)
8Y RS3 k&N filter ran [email protected] (ran 11.6 5 times and trapped 120+ several times)
    at 3100ft elevation

Curious about this too. I've got a 2019 so I'm forced to be patient until those tunes are released from anyone, but every time I contemplate moving past APR (which is all my hardware) and go to your site for software, I don't understand how there are no E85 data points to look at. It doesn't even mention E85 being a thing.
