Anyone have a Discount Tire contact?

Hey, fellas.

Anyone locally in Denver have a Discount Tire contact that is helpful when ordering tires that fall outside their 'fitment' restrictions?

I'm trying to test fit a couple different tire sizes (235/30/20, 245/30/20) on a 20x8.5 et43 wheel on my allroad before ordering four tires and I'm getting some push back. For example, a 245/30/20 tire meets their fitment restrictions on a B8 A4 avant, but not on a B8.5 allroad (despite them virtually being the same vehicle).

I can understand them not installing tires outside fitment guidelines on the actual car, but it's looking like they won't even install a test fit on the rim so I can get an idea of the sidewall.

I've left a message for the manager I've dealt with in the past and am hopeful he'll help, but thought I'd reach out here as well. I appreciate any help. I guess I'll need a location that not only will do the test fit, but will also rotate and balance when needed.

Usually when they do this - it's based on load rating, not fitment. I don't have a contact but I had mine (255/30/20) mounted and installed at Discount Tire in Lafayette on 287 and they just advised I was under load rating and might see issues..

He has been with Discount for quite awhile. He is an enthusiast and always tries to help.
Discount corporate has definitely put their foot down on what he can do though. He used to stretch tires all the time, no problem, now he doesn't, your sizes don't seem that out of norm though. Good luck!
Audi Flatirons mounted 255/30 20 onto 20x10 for me recently, maybe they'd be another option for you.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I'm hoping they'll do just that and inform me that I'm under load rating, but the one person I talked with said they wouldn't even test fit a tire on a rim (off the car), let alone install them on the car if it doesn't meet the load rating. So I'm hoping the manager I left a message for will allow it, but I may need to go to a different shop.

The 245/30/20 I wanted to test fit has a load rating of 95Y and is approved for the B8 avant. A Pirelli 245/30 that is approved for the B8 avant has a load rating of 90Y. The weight difference between the two cars is something like 50 pounds so it shouldn't be a problem.

Any contacts willing to help willing to help with a test fit very much appreciated. But I'd love someone who's willing to install and rotate/balance when the time comes as well.

Any contacts willing to help willing to help with a test fit very much appreciated.

I'm in a similar situation regarding to test fit some 275/35-R19 on S5 peelers (19x9) for the Allroad.
I would highly recommend buying used tire(s) from Craigslist and have them mounted at your local tire store, then bring back to your house to check fitment.
That's what I'm doing right now.... however trying to locate a single 275/35-R19 has been rough on my end.

I actually work at the Discount in Lone Tree (Lincoln and Yosemite). As has been stated already, corporate has really been cracking down on this sort of thing lately. However, Brian Smith at my store is usually able to bend the rules a bit. Plus, our regional managers and corporate big-wigs just visited today so there’s a good chance they won’t be around again for a little while ;)

yeah last two years if they cant put it in the computer seems they cant even test fit without someone from above questioning
this all from people that just want stance, while your far from doing that the responsibility still falls into same if a tire blew and it was claimed no one advised against it. seeing how it directly says wont work on fit guide which is now their bible
if you have the tire's a small shop would do it for a tip.

but sounds like you do not have the tires and want them to mount tires to test id call some of the used tire places on Federal they always have one or two tires and a tip will get them to mount just for you to see

I’ve had success in the past. I bought used tires off CL and I think I paid something like $25 per wheel for mounting/balancing. But that was back in ‘09, not sure if their policy has changed.

I cannot speak for all of Discount Tire's locations, but, the only times I have been told no was when the tire width was not matching wheel width...stretching
Like I said before, try contacting Corey. He sold me road hazard protection on a set of tires I did not buy from him nor have mounted by him recently....

We will as long as everything is the correct size and the tires are more than 2/32nds tread depth (I would assume they would be)

Cool good to know. Yeah they are 255/35 on an 8.5 and only have a season on them, no patches or repairs, and even tread. I also have some used Audi TPMS - would they (you) install those as well?
