Considering a round air bag flat bottom wheel...anything I should know?

I am thinking about going with a round air bag flat bottom steering wheel for my A4. Are they all compatible? Anything I should know?

Looking at S3 wheels like this:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Audi-A3-Q3-S...lZvdQw&vxp=mtr

    And an airbag:

Any advice would be appreciated. I'll also consider anything you might have for sale.

I have a fbsw from a mk2 tts. Repin 2 wires and it's plug and play. MFSW controls included.

I'm running a B8.5 RS4 wheel. Had to swap the connector from my B7 wheel over, which wasn't too bad, and it maintained all controls/functionality:

The controls you posted from the 8V A3/S3/Q3 and some other models wont work with our steering module without an additionnal canbus decoder.

Spare yourself the trouble and use an 8K steering wheel, an MK2 TT or an R8 wheel.

All the above will have the proper mfsw controls.

I used an A3 wheel but swaped over the controls from a Q5 on it:

I gave my self this much trouble only because I wanted the single stage airbag that came with the steering wheel (Thats my B6)

In a B7 you need the dual stage round airbag found in the A4/S4/Q5

    In my B7:
Wagons are made to haul things, mine is made to haul ass

Like mentionned above you will need to swap over your B7 airbag connector.

A4/A5 Slines will be half perforated. Euro RS4 steering wheels will be full perforated.

Considering ditching the round airbag idea. Not sure I want to be messing with/re-pinning the connectors. Anybody have any experience with these polish wheel refurbishers?

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/172868598159

I've heard good things about fly-designs, but this seller seems comparable.

I've never done anything similar with repinning/swapping connectors, and it was really not that bad an effort. Maybe two hours tops if you're going slow.

    Is there a guide somewhere?

I'm not concerned about whether or not I *could* do it; I'm more concerned about whether or not i *should* do it. Seems like the price for screwing something up might be too high.

I’ve got a B8 flat bottom 8K steering wheel and 8K round airbag from an a5. I swapped the main yellow airbag harness plug from my B7 to the B8 airbag harness directly. No re-pin, just made sure it was same pin location as the original B8 airbag. It retained steering wheel functions and no airbag light.

Can't find the original thread for the method I used. It did state that the plug swap only works for 8K wheel and airbag combo to B7, I have no idea about 8J and others.
