    Help Me Identify Warning Symbol

I had my center display show me this symbol. Could not find anything that seems to match it in the manual or around online.

The bad pixels don't make it any easier. Anyone know what this means? Light went away after I restarted the car.

    My guess...

But I would grab vagcom to be sure. If you don't have vagcom.. Get it. Scout the forms to get it cheap. You'll thank yourself a million times over if you plan on keeping the b5

That's the symbol for a light being out. Basically looks like this: (x). Vcds will not show cluster warnings by the way.

Can't you list the active warnings in there? I could have sworn I've done that.

Have vagcom, light went out! It looks like it has text near the top. Says maybe tcm or icm? I have a manual transmission however.

I think it looks like the low fuel light but I see you have almost a full tank. Or maybe the yellow coolant level light?

It's this. Upside down light bulb with the X in the center. Bulb out. So could be faulty or old wiring.

If it comes back when the car is cold the display works well so maybe I can get a better pic of it. I'm tooling today so I'll check all the bulbs and fluid levels.

Hmm... maybe my screen just sucks but it doesn't look at all like the bulb warning to me.

Now that I know what the bulb out indicator looks like it's obvious, but the first time I saw it all I could think was why is there a turtle on my dash...

Bulb failure? Looks like the one that's bottom left on this warning key.

You should send your cluster out to BBA Remanufacturing to fix the display. I had it done on my 2001 TT and they did a great job. They replace everything in the cluster...bulbs, display, tach and Speedo. Mine cost $300, but the guarantee it for life. I lost lines the display a few years later and they fixed it for free. And if memory serves me, they paid shipping.

I just had a headlight bulb go out tonight, so looking like that was it.

I want to have my cluster fixed but I've been waiting to go out of town so I can send it away and it will be done by the time I'm back.

I DD my car so I don't want to have to bum rides to work while it's down.
