Does this oil filter socket fit my car? It should, but ECS Tuning says it doesn't.

Looking to get a dipstick and socket for the oil filter. I am thinking this one is the correct one, but it says it doesn't fit. I don't get it. Thanks for any help.

It should. But IMO save some $ and just buy a 36mm socket at Sears or Harbor Freight.

Ah, what am I going to save? $5? Might as well get this one, but I just don't understand why it says it doesn't fit. Maybe I better just call them tomorrow to see why that is. 36mm is right, but is there some odd variation? Not that I can see. A mistake from ECS? I put in S4 and S5 and both say "does not fit".

    Thanks for the reply.

I used a large adjustable wrench. No problems.

Yeah and it says specifically it's not the TFSI. Maybe just head to the local parts store and grab one.

Long story short.... the note of only fits FSI etc was for the 2.0T engines only... one of our products staffers got a little excited and put that info bit in the full standard details instead of in the view only on certain cars section of the site.

    Yes, that will fit.

James - Can you put to rest the question over the difference between the B8 and B8.5 dipstick? Disregarding the handle, is the actual measuring distance on the Dipstick the same on both? Many other sites only list one dipstick for all 2010-2016 S4's.

    Thanks!

Well, for starters the oil filter socket can really only be used on the oil filter, it's too shallow to use on a large bolt/nut. A socket of the same size can be used on anything. Seems like this is a specialized tool just for the purpose of being specialized.

Nope, not going to put it to rest... kidding.... Max fill on the B8 and B8.5 S4 dipstick is in the same location, the difference is the acceptable "low" level between the two dipsticks. For sake of both the min and max being correct base on the original dipsticks, we have two options.
