C7 A6 Valentine One Hardwire Options

Seeing as Audi doesn't have a cigarette jack underneath the glove box (like BMW does ever so smartly) there is no real way for me to mount my V1 without cords everywhere.

Blendmount is $150 and doesn't even include a hardwire kit.

What are you guys using as an economical reliable hardwire kit for the V1?

I use the suction cup mount that came with the V1 because I prefer to keep it high up, preserving line of sight thru the center of windshield. I hard wire the power thru the mirror.

For me suction cup to the right of the overhead console and run the power wire tucked into the headliner and a-pillar on the drivers side and into the fuse box.

That's what I do for my dashcam. Cable is completely invisible except for ~6-8" at the camera itself.

Maybe thats just me, but I ended up scraping the plastic behind the mirror more than anything TBH. Eventually just hardwired it with suction cups.

Ah, I forgot about that. I didn't have any issues mounting it, but I did wrap the little mirror arm with some self-fusing rubber tape. I felt that the teeth would chew into mirror, so I wrapped it prior to installing. The mount fits solid and hasn't budged.

Same here except I used a permanent metal mount that I bought on eBay that came with 3M double sided tape. It's easy enough to remove the detector from the mount with a press of a button and sliding out. I also did the same with my dash cam on the right side, ran the power along the top down to the right pillar and into a fuse.

Valentine One has a OBD II plug option that mutes alerts based on speed. I ran my cable in the headliner then down to the OBD plug. Works great

I used a BlendMount Audi mount with 20" Mirrortap wire. Install took about 20 minutes, tops with aid of my Powerprobe. Radar only comes on with car started. It looks like factory install, very stealth.

Concealed display mounted above the Speedo cluster with the wire running behind the a pillar vent and down to the foot board. Main unit mounted high to the left of the RVM for maximum detection when cresting hills, wire running down the a pillar secured with the drainage tubing from the sunroof making sure it is behind the airbag. All the wires go down to the savvy module which is plugged into the obd2 port. If you don't have a savvy module you can use the hardwire kit included and tap into a switched fuse or make your own separate fuse like I have for my ALP unit. I have pictures for that too if need be

This is how to make your own switched or powered circuit. I don't remember which one is switched and powered but a cheap multi meter can tell you. That is the part number for the repair wire you need. You can make two wires out of one since it has two ends and you can cut it in the middle. Just use a blank spot and add a fuse in that spot. Alternatively you can you an add-a-fuse system but to me it looks cluttered and dirty like that.

How did you pair up your concealed unit with the main unit?

Main display connection goes into main and concealed unit goes in the ACC spot.it becomes a little trickier if you have the Bluetooth module too like I do. I just used a phone line splitter and hooked both Bluetooth and concealed display into the ACC spot

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Also did you have to use a Savvy?

Don't have to but it has the auto silence under the speed you set which helps with the chatter. Although, I'm getting the P3 gauge and that uses the obd2 reading also so if they both don't work with a splitter I'm just going to go to a regular hardwire hookup.

Do you have Bluetooth and concealed display?

You can combine both concealed display and Bluetooth in the same ACC port using a phone line splitter just make sure it has all 4 connections split (some only have 2). Also if your main unit is ESP based, your concealed display has to be as well.

you can run them both using an OBD splitter, they have nice low profile ones that use a ribbon wire and dont take up much space

I have a ribbon splitter already, the 90 degree flat one but I know it only splits certain ones (8 I think) so if either the rd or the gauge need the other ones I don't know what I'm going to do. I know there are some that split all 16 wires but they're very bulky.
