Ac Compressor leaking oil? / Not working

Guys what does AC compressor oil feel/look like?

Few weeks ago when changing oil I noticed the front drivers side of my oil pan was a little wet with what looked like motor oil.
I cleaned it looked a few days later and the leak seemed to come from above the oil pan. but I couldnt find it, valve cover/and upper half of engine seemd dry when looking from above.

A week later I got a funny smell from the ac which went away quickly but airco did seem to cool less. Another few days passed and my econ light turned on an stayed on. Refilled just a bit with can to see if that solved the problem. It did so I expected an refrigerant leak.
Car was scheduled to get tested by AC specialist next week.

But today my A/C totally stopped working, No econ light not even a little bit of cooling.

Could it be that my AC compressor was leaking oil Or doesnt this resemble engine oil at all?
Also can I keep driving the car, or will this possibly damage the shaft that powers it?

No pic. Should feel like normal oil. First place I'd look is on the side of the condenser at the refrigerant high pressure switch. I had an o-ring leak there. It was a slow leak (so would work if I filled it back up with R134-a), but I replaced the o-ring and as good to go. This is similar to what you are experiencing, so I'd go with checking that first. It's much cheaper and easier than, say, a compressor. On mine, I noticed the area around the switch was dirty and oily.

The "funny smell" sometimes happens due to mildewy buildup on it. If you turn off the a/c the last 5-10 minutes of your drive, you may get rid of it.
