02256 - Quiescent Current

I'm getting a 02256 - Quiescent Current fault in the CAN Gateway. From some other sources it looks to be a battery issue. Do my stats look off? The code came up on 8/18 and I noticed it today after a scan. I cleared the code and it hasn't come back but I still can't fully use my outlets. My battery is currently the original and is 7 years old.

Symptoms: I can not use the 12V outlets, they were working fine last week. I can pull USB power through the other power slot on the phone charger but the hardwire (USB-C) doesn't work on either 12V outlet.



edit: could be a fuse? Wouldn't make much sense there though since I can still draw low power from it.

If the battery is 7 years old, you should replace it regardless. The symptoms you mention sound like the car has gone into power save mode to protect the remaining life of the battery. Get a good quality AGM battery as a replacement and make sure they do the coding for the new battery on the car so the values you've shown in above will properly reset and be correct.

Looks like the outlets are fine. Checked the fuses and verified other phones work with the outlets. Must be an issue with my phone. Still unsure what drew the large power spike to cause this fault though. I'll probably replace the battery before the dead of winter hits, but it's not a pressing issue right now I don't think

Had this code today while parked and using the iPhone and MMI speaker. Warning came on the MMI that my battery was critically low.

This comes after replacing the Optima Red Top this past summer. Wondering if the alternator might be going out?

Need to try the VAG Com and see if I can track down voltage numbers.

^ Yea, I was talking with a friend and fellow Audi owner and he said the Voifo Dash Camera I have installed is the culprit. Apparently, I don't have it properly connected to a switched outlet.

I do have it connected to an appropriate fuse but it runs constantly after shutdown to catch movement and other activity. Totally spaced out that draw on the battery.
