    Instrument Cluster Swap-- Coding etc

    Hi Guys,

I just purchased an instrument cluster to replace the one in my car that does not have the color DIS. The only issue that I have will be getting the mileage changed. I know I can get component protection removed by the dealer, but the other issue leaves me clueless.

Anyone know someone that can code the correct mileage/ know a method to do so? My car has 130k and the new cluster has less miles. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

SpeedoSolutions or there is a company on eBay that sells cluster that say in the item description that they can do it.

That said, it makes no financial sense to change the mileage unless your car has so high mileage that you can't find a cluster with more miles. The cost to change the mileage will be more expensive than buying another cluster with the mileage slightly above yours, and that doesn't even count shipping back and forth.

I did this with speedo solutions, but had the seller ship directly to them, adjust milage to above mine (+500), drove till it reached that number, swapped then took to dealer for cp removal. Vagcom cannot change the milage (unless brand new cluster, then you have one shot to do it or CP removal).

Another vote for http://www.speedosolutions.com/ Great guy. He'll clone your old cluster, put the image in the color DIS cluster. You'll have the same milage, immobilizer data. And if there's a problem, he stands behind his work. Did it on my B7. Can't say enough good about him.

For the b8, you just need the milage corrected and CP removed.

Component Protection locks a module (cluster|hvac|seat|etc..) to vehicle it's installed. Should you want to swap a used part into your vehicle that has or had cp, you will need it reset to adapt. Older audi(s) just requireda pin code. If you need help drop me a pm!
