    Cleaning A4 B7 injectors

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello,

Is it possible to clean fuel injectors in Audi A4 B7? Some people told me that injectors in this particular model can't be cleaned and I have to replace them with new one. Is that correct?

I had mine cleaned by ultrasound, tested and re-installed.

Came out brand new for less than buying one new injector, here's how its done:

They were then flow bench tested just like this:

Wagons are made to haul things, mine is made to haul ass

They can be cleaned 100%, just need to find a specialist shop with the proper tools. Cheaper to clean than to replace.

The most important thing you need to worry about when looking for shops to do this, like some of the guys above have said, is a shop with the proper tools. MOST shops will only flow injectors at 3-5 BAR. When you flow your FSI Injector at that amount you are not properly testing the unit. These require a MUCH higher BAR to test properly which we do with our cleaned, resealed and flow matched sets.

Don't forget your Injector Reseal Kits!!

If we had a set to send out as a core we could 100% help that person out.

I recently had a carbon cleaning done, should I have my injectors cleaned to refresh everything. Has anybody seen a noticeable difference?

    Thanks for helpful answers.

Are petrol injection system cleaners effective? For example those offered by Liqui Moly or Würth...

Queston: I've changed my coils and plugs, and I'm still getting a misfire on cylinder 2. On a cold start, the CEL begins to flash as the car begins to rev down. Would my injectors be the issue?

That could be your injectors. Mine did that last winter and I thought it was the valves being plugged. It would run terribly until the engine warmed up. I replaced 2 of the injectors and it cleared up.

Id be willing to bet its your injectors. This has happened to me twice now and im currently dealing with it. First time was cylinder 3. I bought new coils and plugs and installed and still had a missfire on start up. Bought a clean used injector and installed it. Problem went away.

Fast forward to 6 months later, im having the same issue in cylinder one. Swapped the coils and ruled them out as an issue. Decided to just toss in new spark plugs again and still missfiring on cold starts.

Right now im trying to decidee on whether to buy new injectors or take the risk on buying used clean injectors from jhm. A buddy of mine works at the dealer and can get me a complete set for 400, so i may just pay the extra coin to go new vs used.

Before installing the injectors, i plan to do a carbon clean then consider installing a water meth kit. i hear water meth does wonders on our engine for carbon cleaning.

This is where I'm at. Do I have mine cleaned, or just get a new set. I might as well go about replacing them since I've already done the coils and plugs.

    Cleaning A4 B7 injectors

My last car was a 3.2 and I can tell you from experience the carbon build up in your intake manifold/runner/valves will affect the performance of your car. If you guys are already pulling the manifold to get to the injectors, it'd be worth it to do a carbon cleaning while you're in there. it's not uncommon to have valves that look like this and worse. If so, pretty soon you'll have a flashing CEL at WOT. Just my ¢.02.

Edit: also valid for the 2.0T, if you're in there for the injectors or the carbon cleaning it's not THAT much more work to just do the other.

Does anyone have pictures of their old injectors they pulled? I sent mine off for cleaning and they replaced the teflon ring, and oring but not the light blue spacer that comes in the kit. I didnt take pics and not sure if it had spacers to start. Would rather not buy the whole kit for just the spacer.

Here is a picture of mine which I pulled about a week ago:

The original spacer was black, not blue. I replaced with blue spacers included in the kits from the dealer.

    thread revival.

injector 2 is leaking badly and it could be hazardous.

Is it really worth it to clean them while they out ? I mean fuel going into them @ high pressure, how clogged can they be ?

    mine got 75k miles.

Its the carbon on the tips that is the worst. Even if you clean them manually its worth it.

Yeah, I soaked mine for a day in Sea foam, while doing my carbon clean. Worked good. Carbon on the tips gets bad. One if mine I couldn't even see the hole. Don't know how it was even spraying, lol.0920192223.jpeg0920191821a.jpeg
