    Arrow Exhaust size 3.0t

Does anybody know the stock exhaust tubing size for 2017 and newer Q7 3.0t?
I'm thinking about replacing the center muffler/resonator into a y pipe. The audi diagram states all are mufflers and no resonators. Which i highly doubt.

Well i just had the center resonator replaced with a y pipe. It sounds just a tad louder. It's not a big difference like an x pipe replacing the center resonator on other 3.0t models. I'm sure the huge muffler on the q7 doesn't help though either haha.
I do know that there is no drone from idle to 3,300 rpm. Haven't gone full throttle since the engine is not broken in yet.

Not much of a sound clip. Only have a cold start video with the y pipe installed.

Hi, really interested in this mod, I'm in the same boat ( I mean looking for some more grunt...) may I ask you a few question?

-The part you replaced with a Y pipe is the center muffler (part number 16), right? and you didn't have to cut anything, just loosened the brackets, right?
-Since you say theres no drone up to 3,300 rpm, I guess there won't be any at all, usually is on that rpm band. But have you kept it at around 2.000 rpm on long gears going uphill? this usually creates quite a drone.
    -What Diameter are the pipes?
-Any chance you could provide a dimension diagram on the shape of the Y pipe? that way I could fabricate it without unmounting the OEM part, and having the car stuck while fabricating.
-Lastly, did you think about replacing the final muffler instead of the middle one? it seems like a T pipe would do the trick. Do you think it would've been too much?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm really interested on this mod!

    Thanks in advance

Yup, part 16 was replaced. It was cut right at the inlet/outlet of the resonator.

Didn't drive on a steep uphill yet. Mainly freeway/street driving. No drone experienced so far.

I don't have a diagram of the pipe. Nor do i know the size of tubing. Just by eye balling it, the inlets look 2.25" or 2.5" and the outlet is probably 3". It's literally just a y pipe

I figured the resonator delete would be sufficient enough. But i was wrong. I'm sure the huge oem muffler has something to do with it. So does the y pipe instead of an x pipe design like most other 3.0t engines. Personally, it's just not loud enough for me. Then again, i'm used to my toys not being so quiet.

There are 2 options i can choose from next.
Either i delete the front 2 resonators with straight pipes or replace the oem muffler with a high flow muffler.

If i were you, i would do one of those options above and delete the center resonator. Whatever you do decide to do, let us know and give us your feedback. Preferably with a video that doesn't just show cold start haha

Thanks for the info, for the moment I will go with the center muffler, I'll jack up the car and take measures.
