    Throttle Body bolts

I recently replaced my apr bi pipe gasket, and noticed that the Throttle body bolts looked pretty rusty. Was looking to replace them.

Is this a part number I can find if I purchase the digital owners manual ?

Does anyone happen to have the part number for these?

Although I do find ECS to be a great site - I rarely go to their site to determine part numbers. They don't even have part diagrams. For part diagrams - http://www.oemepc.com/ is a good resource.

Since the APR bipipe uses longer hardware than stock some of the fasteners (from what I remember), then you can get replacements from Mcmaster or whatever. I believe they are M6. Go with something other than black oxide if you want to keep them from rusting this time. I believe the stock is cad plate.

Those are the oem throttle body bolts. I don't know if they'll work with the apr stuff you have.

And be careful when tightening those things.
I swear the upper dside one is stripped on every car I see with a bipipe.
There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.

    FWIW-
Go with 85mm long for the (2) bolts that hold the bottom arched spacer and 60mm long for the top (2) that use the spacers.....DONOT torque to the specified 7 ft-lbs....What Zillarob said is SO true......Just make them snug.
Been running that way since '02 with no issues....ALSO be sure to install the (2) small cap screws to the cam belt covers.

I’m more worried about stripping the heads when removing them rusty old ones.

I assume the timing belt cover ones are easier to come by.

So I should be getting 85mm and 60mm?
    Or 80mm and 55mm?

    Thank you

The original bolts supplied by APR were a bit too short resulting in minimal thread engagement with the potential of stripping out the threads.....That's the reason I went with the longer bolt....
Had the same issue with their DTS (the (4) 8mm bolts)

Thank you. This information is very valuable.

The bolt looks pretty bad on the bottom. I’m pretty sure it’s just going to round itself off when I attempt to remove it. I just want to be able to get to the throttle body gasket if I need to when the time comes. That’s why I’m changing them.

But if I cannot get the bolts out due to them getting rounded off. I’m just going to leave them. I don’t think it’s worth the hassle of drilling them. And chancing never getting them out.
