This will read like a rant, but I am genuinely asking as I have never purchased aftermarket wheels.
How do you buy from Vorsteiner? Do you need to be a member in some secret club?
June 10 I bought VFF 106s from one of their distributor's ebay store. I was pumped. I was told it would be 5-6 weeks to get them. I am a patient man so I settled in for a 6 week wait.
5 week mark, I contact the distributor to confirm we are still on time for the proposed arrival date. I wanted to buy the tires and them ready. I was told it would be another 6 weeks. I was a little annoyed. The distributor was pretty awesome about it all, offering me a pretty good discount + free black lug nuts + red center caps.
On August 8 the distributor reach out to me to let me know that they had very bad news; they were told by Vorsteiner that the VFF 106s were never coming as they had decided to discontinue the wheel for my specific car... I wasn't even mad, I was sad because I really liked those wheels. Distributor was awesome. Offered me more of a discount on any other wheel on their site. Went with my 2nd choice with some VFF 102s... I was told these are very popular wheels and would not be an issue to get them to me in 5-6 weeks...
Fast forward to today... Vorsteiner does not have the 102s ready and there is no estimate on when they can get them...
Is this normal? I've looked at many other wheel brands and styles and I hate that I just love the Vorsteiner designs... I'm just so bummed that almost 11 weeks 14 weeks ago I ordered and paid for something to never get anything...
Is there a better way to get them?
