Can someone outline the differences between 2017 and 2018? Not finding a detailed breakdown anywhere. The dealer has a 17 on the lot spec'd nearly as I would order, but am wondering if it's worth the wait to take delivery on an 18.

No differences other than the 2018 has the driving assistance, Dynamic Plus and design packages as an option. All 17s have a standard build of Dynamic, tech, carbon fiber interior, etc. 17 is basically a really good value for its price price and in my opinion has all the right packages stock.

2017 model is basically the 2018 but was the early batch that was supposed to be sent over to the states but came basically the same time as the 18s.. my dealer tends to think they only made 120-130 2017 models as well making them rare but nobody really knows the exact number.

All MY17 cars came pre-spec'd with Dynamic, Tech, Carbon inlays(?) - no black optics or DAP
If that's all you want, then a MY17 is all you need. Otherwise, you'll have to order a MY18.

Thanks, is there any difference between the '17 Dynamic package and the '18 Dynamic or same?

Just a side note, the Audi side assist is part of the tech package on a 17 and standard on the 18. So you get it either way.

This might be more detailed info than you were looking for.... but there were different brake hole patterns but I don't think anyone ever figured out a pattern, it seemed some early 18s got the holes in a line but after some point Audi ran out of those and switched to the more random holes.

The 2017 is already a model year old. Unless you are getting a significant discount why would you want the extra depreciation that comes with a year older car? As far as rarity, the RS3 will not be rare, supply is now catching up with demand. There has been no indication from Audi that the RS3 production will be limited. If you need instant gratification buy the 2017 noting that it will have depreciated more than the 2018.

That is incorrect, 2017 Dynamic Package comes with options that the 18's did not and Technology package was a little different which actually kept me from going to 2018 bc I would of had a 66k specd car instead of 61975. It was side assist, 170 speed limiter and something else that is slipping my mind. I'm sure if I saw the order guide it would come back to me.

Dynamic package and Dynamic + package are identical between MY 17 and 18. Same price and same items.

Side assist was in Tech package for 17. In 18, it became part of standard equipment, hence the difference in base price. But dealers had no choice in selecting options for 17, so all 17 came with tech package so no difference there.

17s have no black optic package PAV
    No driver assistance pack 952
No RS design interior package PEH
No Grey stitching alcantara kneepad/armrest 7HE

In the US, all 17s were built with the same set of options. Dynamic Plus was not available.

The options installed were Dynamic, Tech, Carbon Fiber.

    Also, no red stitching.

They were available in a variety of colors including some of the extra cost colors like Daytona Gray.

Correct! Not that it will matter much as far as "collection" effect but all 2017 are initial batch and thus "rare". I got lucky with one of the "surprised" deliveries and pulled the trigger. Most dealerships got one car, the rest are orders.

I'm sorting out a 2017...And it's 5,000 cheaper than an 2018 with all the filler packages (black OPs, RS design, etc.)

I've convinced myself it's better to save the $5000 and get Iroz goodies...thanks guys for pointing out differences.

Can anyone confirm 2017 came with 174 mpg top speed since it didn't have dynamic plus package?

2017's are limited to 155 mph because they are not equipped with the dynamic plus package, although you can fix that with VAG-COM. As long as you are OK without the driver assist package, pretty much every other options package can be retrofitted relatively easily later on as long as you are OK paying for the parts.

Awesome ok not that I need 174 anyhow! I actually like the packages on the 17 over the dressed up fluff I saw in 18s....Partly convincing myself, also Partly content I could get it for $59k!!!!!!
