    S6/S7 Wheel Concavity

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,
I'm new around here (not car forums) and have been researching S6's and S7's.
Coming from the BMW and Porsche world having owned several ///M cars and two 911TT.

When looking for a new platform, I often look at wheel availability, sizing options, offest, etc.
I've noticed that the S6/S7 has a pretty decent offset which would lead me to believe that the concavity of the wheels should be pretty deep.
However, that doesn't seem to be the case based on most of the photos I've seen.
    Can anyone comment on that?

I searched for a "Wheel thread" for this platform but couldnt find one.
A thread where eveyrone posts photos of their cars with new wheels as well as the brand, size, width, offset, etc.
    Does such a thread exist?

Sorry if this has been covered, yes I used the search function.

Actually...in my experience so far its the opposite. Due in part to the AWD - and the position of calipers in the front...I have seen very few wheels that have true concavity.

BMW was always great about making some super wheels...especially the M split 5 spoke.

I have 5 spoke rotors on my 16 S6 - with a 35 offset and have to use a 3mm spacer in the front to get it to clear the caliper. Back is much better. On my 16 S5 - I easily swapped the stock black optic 20's with 45 offset for RS5 rotors that had a 26 offset. Same principle did not apply to the S6.

There are a few threads - let me see if I can find one.

S7s can fit much wider wheels/tires than an S6.. part of it has to due with the brake size (s6 bigger than S7/RS7) and I suppose fender size.

The S7 can fit wider wheels because it's an inch wider. In stock form that extra width is absorbed by half-inch wider wheels and 6mm less offset. The brakes are the same.

    I'm running a 20" x 10" et25 on 275/35/20 tires. Lowered on H&R ETS module.
Wheels are Volk Racing Rays G25 Classic in Face 3.
Face 4 is the most concave and not sure it works week with the S7.

Iv had my 14 s6 for 7 months now I can't find anything I like yet I'm in the same boat want to have lots of concave or big lip but I think I'm gonna have to experiment which I have had to do in the past. Scary thing is most of my audi's haven't had 600hp 700ftq I went stage 2 when I couldn't find rims lol which brings me to iv had 25mm spacers on the rears of my b6s4 and 5mm inn the front to clear my brakes I was also running a staggered setup.

One thing I disliked about my C63 was how horrible wheel options were. The stock wheels were way too narrow.

Here are a couple photos of my past cars and wheels.

You've had some incredible cars! Just based on that, I feel the rs7 would be the best option for your next purchase.

I also have 20x9 ET35 RS5 rotor reps. I tried a 3mm up front, but it *just* kissed the caliper on one of the spokes so I went with a 5mm front and rear. This gives an effective offset of 30mm on a 20x9. So I am currently only 4mm tucked compared to an OEM RS5 rotor. I would have preferred the quality of OEM RS5 wheels, but I was afraid it might be too aggressive for my taste. I am OK with the current fitment, but if I wanted to correct the camber up front, it might be too much poke for my liking. I am happy with the concavity of my setup. This wheel definitely has much more presence than the 20x8.5 ET45 black optic package rotor that is available on the A6/S6. It seems to be a bit difficult to capture in pictures though. I feel they are much more striking in person. As stated by another in this thread, the S7 is wider, but does have the same brakes, so you will be able to go a bit wider and more aggressive with the concavity and offset.

Same st up as mine. Not sure why 3mm front and 5mm rear worked for my set. But as with mine, this is all the cancavity that I needed. And I do like this stock look. The depth and width (20x9) of the wheel changes the entire look just enough.

Hey vman, I have to say that your stand-alone garage that is bigger than some people’s houses is amazing.. Loving all that garage space you got there... Total garage space is nearly competing with the amount of living space, love it!!

Here is my S7.. just picked a new Set of Shoes.! they are 21x10.5 et 30 square. Tires are 285/30 pirerelli PZero.I think the fit is perfect what u guys think. ??
Had to run a 5mm spacer to get a little more clearance on front suspension. They had a tight fit in area behind wheels at top of arm wanted to sure they had a little more room. Also lowered on Cete 15-19mm no Rubbing.

Classy, understated, OEM+, yet purposeful was the look I was going for.

My wife really liked the house, but it only had a 2 car garage. I told her she could have the house as long I could build the garage an additional garage . It is 31'x41' with the back half vaulted for a 2 post lift. The front half has a 12'x20' room above for additional storage. She still has much more house than I have garage, but I do sleep in the house on occasion, and she tolerates me and my car habit, so I guess I won't complain

The vendor is wheelfactoryinc on ebay. They do not have a standalone website that I am aware of. They carry a lot Audi reps as well as other OEM reps (Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, etc..)

I'm running the Rotiform LAS-Rs on 20x10 with +35 offset (on HR Springs). There's enough concavity on certain angles and to be honest, you could run a 30mm offset on front and the 35mm rears are perfect as it is. Camber could probably clear you another mm's for offset but I know a lot of folks aren't a fan of the cambered look. Here's a photo of my car for reference.
