    Vinyl Wrap vs. Plasti Dip

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi Everyone,

I just picked up a 2017 Q5 2.0T Premium Plus S-Line (Black) for my wife.

Unfortunately, the black optic package was not available.

I am planning to black (gloss black) out: front grille, fog light bezels, rear trunk hatch chrome accent, window trims and roof rails.

Of course, the vinyl wrap option is the way to go. However the installation of plasti dip costs almost 50% less.

I am planning to own his car for at least 4 years.

Please share your suggestions and experiences.

    Thank you.

Vinyl wrap all day. I wrapped half my grille in black and it looks better plus you can go with a gloss. I only did the vertical slates. I've done plastidip in the past and rock chips are annoying.

Well, you can spend the money on the vinyl now and enjoy your vehicle for four years.

Or you can plasti-dip now, spend the money you saved as you plasti-dip again in 18 months, and then decide whether to do it again or just remove it entirely in another 18 months.

Definitely wrap! Or spend the wrap money on other mods

definitely wrap! I did my grill, window trim and roof rails, under $100. Take your time and it looks great. For the back emblems I just bought some of ebay gloss black. The grill is a bit of a pain but once it's done you'll be happy.
