    bp6es: 14mm, 3/4" reach, 13/16" hex, gasket seat, JIS height, projected tip

    bkr6e: 14mm, 3/4" reach, 5/8" hex, gasket seat, ISO length, projected tip, resistor, V-power (v-grooved center electrode)

    That all came from NGK.com

    According to the NGK website the bp6es will not fit in a 1.8T engine, but the bkr6e will.

    According to the NGK part number PDF:

    BPR6ES -

    Thread diam = 14mm
    Construction = Projected insulator
    Thread Reach = 19mm (3/4")
    Firing End = 2.5mm center electrode

    BKR6E -

    Thread diam = 14mm
    Construction = 5/8" Hex with ISO projected tip
    Thread Reach = 19mm (3/4")
    Firing End = 1.5mm center electrode with V-groove

    There is a possiblilty that the 2.5mm center electrode may provide a better spark area but, I've always used the BKR6E because the stock NGK plug is the BKUR6ET. That is a tri-ground plug.

    If you drop the triple ground design, you end up with a BKR6E.

    Here's the PDF file with the number scheme:
