Just got the Autopilot Color MFA installed and couldn't be happier. Purchased and installed through/by Clusters By Litke
Lots of great features, like the modern Audi and VW MFA with VAGCOM functionality built in to cluster

Aahhh fantastic, another person to bounce ideas off of. I installed mine into my cluster last week too!

I set my temps up to be:
    AMBIENT OIL
    INTAKE COOLANT

    Few questions:
So are you able to see [R] when you put it in reverse?
Are you able to see boost pressure without manually tapping the MAP sensor?
Did you have brake light before the cluster swap?
Does your oil level work? Doesnt show your level or anything in your vid

Ive been informed that these can not accept 3rd party sensor inputs either such as an afr or boost gauge...

Mine works 100% accept boost pressure and [R] for reverse...

No [R] in reverse, i also had to adjust the gearing in the cluster but it always shows the right gear now
    No boost pressure
Brake light was on before swap, pad wear sensor wire got cut when the rf airbag blew out
    Oil level does work
i was a little disappointed about the boost. Was hoping not to have to get a gauge.
Also thinking about having the white LED's in the speedometer replaced to match the MFA's brighter white color

Yea I received conformation that R only works for the auto cars. Not manual.

In order to see boost you need to tap the boost line from the sensor. It is T121/101.

I have learned that depending on what map sensor you have installed 2Bar (stock), 3Bar (TDi), or 4 bar, the mfa automatically scales for the different sensor. Found this to be cool...

Oil level works on my car. Are you able to see oil level in vcds 17-instruments? Maybe you have a bad sensor?

    Bringing this back.

I want to do this mod. Did anyone look into the Diaz module? Search it on YouTube.

I'm talking with both of them right now but there may be some questions about reliability with Diaz software. Does anyone have any insight?

I can't seem to track down an ECU wiring diagram to tap the boost gauge into the T101 ECU wire. For those that did it, where did you actually tap the wire? Prior to going into the ECU from the MAP sensor? What did you use to tap it? Thinking about using posi-taps. Thanks.

Very cool upgrade, my LCD fades to nothing when it warms up. I'd just have to try and justify the $$.
Is the eastern european group the only ones that do this, or is there a state-side group that does it as well?

The units are ordered from overseas. I worked with Matt Litke. Google clusters by Litke. He is U.S. based. All in with him doing the install I was right around $500. If you are going to pay to have a fading cluster replaced it makes it slightly more worth it. I find the amount of data and the features invaluable.

Jbain2's was awesome when I saw it, haven't been able to justify 500 myself but it seems reasonable for how good it looked and the functionality.

I've done my TT and allroad with the normal replacements if you are doing it yourself then the cost difference is pretty high if you are paying the color gets a little more reasonable..... one day.

You can read all measuring blocks. Read and clear fault codes. I needed to replace the LCD anyway and since I suck at soldering and small electrical jobs I was going to send the cluster out to get it repaired anyway so I figured it was as good a time as any to go with the color MFA.

wish they have some special or group buy. Looks cool, but cannot justify the price, after spending 300+ on P3 gage.

I hear you. I wouldn’t do it either if I’d gone the P3 route. You can do the install yourself and save the $250 but frankly I found the install on YouTube and it’s no joke. Way beyond what I can take on.

Just random browsing and found this thread.
Just feel i have to reply.

The jobb looks way scaryer than it is!
If you have changed the normal lcd or even just thought about it i would say this is a way easyer jobb, although more time consuming.

If you have a desent solder station, a magnifier a multimeter and some patience this is for you.
    Atleast on the b5/c5/8l platforms.
Now ive herd mk4 can be abit more trouble.

Talked with Matt Litke this morning. The next round of ColorMFA's opens this weekend. 5-6 month lead time (perhaps sooner but erring on the side of caution).

    240$ for DIY kit

My stock MFA hadn't turned on for a few years. I was able to get it to work again by simply cutting a small stripe of rubber with some double sided tape that would pinch the ribbon connection in place. It worked great but it slowly started to fade when its warm over the last 6 months, and now only works when its really cold, or for the first 15-20 minutes before the cars gets warm. I am going to try and resolder the ribbon this week while I have the car apart for valve covers, a power steering leak, and an AC compressor replacement.

Pigging off what Mrimstad said above - I Have some experience building control boxes for the testing machines at my work. Similar small PCB's and wires everywhere, it was really daunting the first time i worked on one but picked it up really fast. After looking at the directions it doesn't seem that crazy in my opinion.

I'm going to order one if I cant get my stock one working again, I'm going to pull the cluster tonight and work on it tomorrow. Will keep you guys updated.
