Please remind me: How to force MMI reboot?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Having an issue where the MMI screen won't pop up when I start the car. It will usually (but not always) go up if I press the button on the dash. VCDS has the following fault which cannot be cleared.

I thought to reset the MMI you had to push 'Menu'-'Round Knob'-'Upper right soft key' simultaneously, but that doesn't seem to be doing anything. Would one of you please remind me the process and buttons to press in order to do a full MMI reboot?

    Thanks

    Here's the fault I have:

    00658 - Control Head
012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit
    Freeze Frame:
    Fault Status: 01101100
    Fault Priority: 5
    Fault Frequency: 1
    Reset counter: 88

The "Reset" button is actually just a reboot button control. I believe it's the top right center button and the back button. sometimes I just press all of them for the reboot.

Have you owned your S6 since the beginning? Did you ever get a MMI service done (hardware upgrade, parts replaced?) it could be as simple as a loose connector in the back of the control head.

you have the correct buttons to reboot the MMI, just remember that you need to hold them for about 10 seconds or so. Once you release them, the MMI will reboot.

BTW, it sounds like this issue might not be fixed with a simple reboot, but it is still worth trying.

    Good luck!

I have the same 00658 code, 012 Electrical Fault in Circuit, 01101100 Fault Status. Did you get it fixed?

Hi dear, maybe this Audi A6 Connect Quick_Start_File in PDF may help you to fix the problem & error code. Cheers
