Has anyone replaced your engine / motor mounts yet? Just wondering what the level of pain is involved with replacing them or should I must have the dealership do it.

This link has some info about dealer cost: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...1#post11806581

    and here: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...1#post12531382

Also, it appears that (ECS Tuning) A6/7 mounts are a fair amount cheaper than S6/7 mounts:

Wwhan.. do you believe they're interchangeable ?

    OP, here's one for the B8.. https://store.034motorsport.com/blog...s4-a5s5-q5sq5/

I'm fairly certain it'll be the same after the subframe part, everything else before I'm not so sure but it's somewhat of an idea.

I bought a 2013 S7 back at the end of June. Both mounts had been replaced about 2,000 miles before I bought it. The carfax stated that the motor had been removed to do the job so I called the dealership that did the work. They said normally the motor doesn't have to be removed, but in this case the right mount was collapsed so badly that the couldn't get to the bolts to remove it without hoisting the engine.

The dealer replaced mine. They were covered under CPO but the paperwork showed it was $1318 or something like that so expect to pay around that at the dealer for replacement.

Got mine done by my Audi dealer under warranty on the S6, and from all accounts it was a bit of a job.

Assuming you're out of warranty, it might be worth sending to a reputable local Audi specialist/independent workshop to do as there is significant manhours involved so you might cut your labour charge down considerably by going this way.

I also got mine done (S6)... actually didn't even know it was broken until I checked with ross tech. I had an odd hard jerk one day and told them about it and they don't think it was that but replaced in case (since there was a code, CPO warranty covered it).

I wouldn't replace an S6 mount with an A6 mount... different weights, different stiffnesses. But would be curious about someone doing the opposite if fitment wasn't an issue.

Not to mention, the 4.0T uses active engine mounts to compensate for vibration while in 4 cylinder mode.

Yeah, the S6/7 motor mounts are actively controlled:
