Oooooff!! Just checked my launch control counter

So I purchased my 2014 CPO S4 with 37.5K miles on it about 6 weeks ago and finally checked the counter ... yeah, 58 launches! Good golly, I don't think I would have launched it that many times over 200K miles!

Now, I am concerned that it has been tracked. Has anyone launched their car that many times without tracking it? What issues have arisen from launching it? Thanks.

There are people on this forum that have launched their car literally hundreds of times. I wouldn't worry about it as long as the suggested maintenance has been done.

So what if it's been tracked? It's not like there is something magical about private pavement that ruins automobiles. Not to mention you are under factory warranty anyway.

I checked mine using OBDeleven. It is under 02 Transmission -> Advanced Measurements.

I just checked mine using Carista, 2 launches which I did. It's like picking up with a dime at the bar and the next day you find out she's hooked up with all your friends. Most of us have been there! I wouldn't worry about it too much honestly.

??? Other than raw horsepower, the B8 really has little in the way of redeeming features as a track weapon. Sure, it'll get around and I might take it out for a day or two just for fun, but you would have to be pretty dedicated to the the platform to track one of these on a regular basis.

35 launches though is indicative that the car was probably thoroughly enjoyed in its previous life. Better that than a car that has sat in traffic for 3 hours a day for 3 years though.

Bought my '15 CPO last month and I was also shocked when I checked my launch counter... which was "zero" prior to me doing the first one!

Got lucky I suppose... car looked brand new inside and out, must have only been driven to church on sundays? LOL

I launched mine over 200 times and had not a gram of shavings in the transmission pan. I did spring a seal leak and gear oil was dripping. Dealer fixed it under warranty.

I have always thought my stock S4 was fast enough in normal everyday traffic. I launched it once and it scared the shit outta me. I released the brake & for a split second nothing happened then wham! My head hit the headrest and it was farting thru 2nd & 3rd gears before I lifted my foot. Now I just floor it. Launch control count: 1.

All of you guys at 0 launches are really missing out on an experience. You've never truly felt your car pull until you accelerate to at least 3rd gear from stop using launch control.

My 2013 DSG-equipped S4 has 86k miles on it and likely >50 launches and the transmission still shifts like a champ.
