I ran Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 245/40/18 on Neuspeed RSe10 last year. Not much info on them because they are new but they are very good would recommend if you live somewhere that gets a significant amount of snow/slush/ice. (aka: most cities in Canada)

That's my plan. Not a fan really of the silver blade OEM wheels (unless I black them out by getting them powder coated or something. Even thinking about running 18/19" Neuspeed RSE10s for summer as their light weight and cheapish. For sure getting new summer next year.

I ran 225/40/19 Kumho Wintercraft WP72 (~$167/each) snows on the stock non staggered wheels, fit, rode, and worked great, very quiet and comfortable.

NOT TOTALLY SNOW RELATED, BUT HAS BEEN A VERY GOOD CONFIGURATION

Also running 245/40 /18 Michelin AS3+ on Neuspeed RSe10 18" x 8.5" wheels, now with 8400 miles on them and they've been very good performers, especially on our poor condition country roads in all sorts of weather. These replaced 235/35/19 Continental ExtremeContact on the stock 19" RS 3 wheels which were OK, but the low prifile '35' sidewall created very harsh rides on many of our country back roads due to their poor surface maintenance. Ruts and broken surface areas were the most prevalent problems for the 235/35/19 configuration and our ability to simply enjoy the road run drive.

The 0.7" additional sidewall height of the 245/40/18 made a huge difference in ride comfort over so-so road surfaces all too common now... unfortunately!
    https://photos.google.com/search/_tr...eAKWz0ychTwWfW

    On a related note...
Here's a physical comparison between the stock 235/35/19 tire and the 245/40/18 (Michelin AS3+) that I run on my 2019 RS 3, which has added additional tire sidewall height to significantly improve ride comfort over poor road surfaces and has maintained very good traction and precise control during fast performance on twisty fast back roads that we drive on a weekly basis in eastern W VA.

I am running Neuspeed RSe10’s 18X8.5 with Blizzaks 225/40R 18’s that I had used on my 2 previous S3’s! Had to get Neuspeeds as my 3 sets of Audi wheels in my garage would not fit over front caliper! They worked fine last winter!

I plan to use my Michelin Alpin PA4s on my 18" Neuspeed RSe10s for the third winter. It's an amazing combo and i love them.

picked up some Braelin - BR10 - 8x18 +45offset (hub centric 57.1) with 225/40/r18 Continental - Conti Viking Contact 7 mounted/balanced/delivered for under $2200.00 cdn . Just tried them on tonight, they have cleared the front brakes, will zip around the block tomorrow to make sure no rubbing before changing back to the summers.

I will be putting on Neuspeed RSe10 18x9 +45 with 245/40-18 Vredestein Wintrac Pro.

    Of course I considered Nokian Hakkapellitta R3, but couldn't stomach paying $75/tire more...but I'm sure they're awesome!

I'd be curious to know this as well. How tight is the clearance with the front caliper? Let me know if you hear any rubbing while test driving. Thanks!

Sale on now at Canadian tire for Michelin Xice 3 since it's discontinued now to make way for the 4's. The 3's are 25% off right now.

Picked up 4 225/45/18 for 634 plus tax so 700. Also used there online masterpass pay promotion and got a 100 gift card :) (that gift card promo ended Thursday)

For wheels i ended up with Superspeed RF03RR in 18x8.5 + 35 fits clears the calipers no problem. However this fit needs hub rings. They have golf R fitment that is hubcentric but it did not clear the calipers as it was +45 and more inboard fit.. This cost me 800 tax in out the door.

5mm between the barrel and brakes just behind the spokes, balancing weights where there, just barely kissed the brake. Will get the weights moved and should all be good. Low profile weights would probably clear but I will just move them outboard.

I think I’ve decided on Michelin Alpin PA4 in 235/35/19 on the staggered stock wheels but never rode on them before. I’ve only had Michelin xi3s how do these compare? These PA4s are gnna cost me $410 a piece.... but if they perform well in Canadian winters well worth it. Will this size fit?? Or will there be rubbing?

I guess Sotozero 3s or PA4s are my only options. Which ones are better?

What tire pressure will you be using? I might also go with a similar setup except for RWC AD493 wheels with the same specs as your choice. Also, how is the looks? Is it flush? Thanks

Not flush, outside rim face by a calculator 9.3mm inward. Wanted to keep it in for less throw up the sides. +35 on a 8" rim would keep it closer to stock, would be -.7mm (again by a calculator, used www.willtheyfit.com) . Figuring it out by the charts tire pressure should be 41lbs front and 36lbs back. 255/60-19 91 + 235/35=19 91 vs 225/40-18 92xl. If I have got this wrong, please correct me. thanks.

Thanks chubot. What a pain to find 18” winter wheels for this car. I don’t want to shell 2K CAD for a set. Turns out the AD493 won’t clear. Search engines say yes but when you call it’s no. I think I’m simply gonna copy you lol. Did you have other choices? And what it is your preferred site? I’m guessing you’re in Canada. Thanks!

I used PMC tire, out your way. Third or four time I have used them. They have a number of wheels that are supposed to clear also, but when I checked with the manufacture they wouldn't. Braelin emailed that these where a fit.

I've been running stock PSI without issues. Not sure it's the best approach but it seems to be working fine.

    https://www.rimalloycanada.com/product/r02b-matt-black/

I ordered these last year in 18" for my RS3. It's what all the Audi dealers in BC sell as their winter wheel/tire setup. The Audi dealer in Kelowna quoted me $3000 (plus tax) for a set of these with Michelin X-Ice. I reached out to the guy at rimalloycanada.com and he quoted me 190/wheel shipped so that's what I did. He also included a set of hub-centric rings for free. I ended up getting a set of Nokian Hakkapelliitta (235/40/18) installed on the wheels and finished up out the door for about 2k for the wheels and tires mounted and balanced. Ran them all winter and it was perfect. Hope this helps.

If you're looking for a Canadian source, I worked with JRP on my rims. I paid less for the rims than $2K (can't remember exactly but the price with tires was very competitive). Most of all, they know they car, then know what fits, provide great service, and are very well thought of by Neuspeed (I had contacted them for fit confirmation). You may want to connect with them to see what options they have for you.

Do we need TPMS sensors for the winter setup on a canadian 2018? I thought it was indirect, well on my car I don’t have reading per wheel... Tire place suggests I buy them.

In the US it came with direct if you got this package: Dynamic Plus (Fixed Suspension, Carbon fiber engine cover, etc)

i have a 2018 Canadian cars did not have direct tpms nor do the 2019s.

I have a 2018 and i have no direct TPMS. My winters did not need any sensors.

I didnt read all 32 pages so forgive me but is there a reason everyone is going with the Michelin PA4 and not the Alpin 5? Where i live i need better moderate temperature dry/wet performance more than the snow performance but need snow tires to go into the mountains skiing.

Could you tell me which shop/dealer you got them from? I've asked most of them on the East coast and was never quoted close to $800

Got them for my wife's 328i xDrive Gran Turismo. Seemed like a better driving "ice&snow" category tire from Tirerack reviews. Hoping so since Blizzaks were always a let down in the cold & dry. Not on the car yet though, we usually don't switch over until late Oct...

This is slightly unrelated but does anyone know if a set of wheels will fit in the car? Asking because I will have to drive to the place to get my winter tires and wheels installed and drive home with the current setup in the car.

That’s exactly what I’m looking for! I might give them a shot! Where I’m from, when it snows it snows so much rather have the tires better in snow and ice. Thanks!

Putting the winters on a little early this year because i'm not going to have time again for a few weeks and we have some cold weather coming in -- having a bit of a brain fart about the pressures i was running last year. What should i be running for 18" neuspeeds with Alpin PA4s in 245/40 square? 40 all around?

Personally i would do 34-36, the 245/40/18 has a weight range of 97 vs stock's 235/35/19 of 91, meaning you can run much lower tire pressure to get the same weight carrying capacity.
Stage 1 more than you RS3

I’m using numbers from https://tiresize.com/pressure-calculator/ which are aligned from what I’ve seen posted here.
