Conservative OEM+ Wheel Thread

A play on the Aggressive Wheel Thread.

My fiance just picked up a 2016 A3 in Monsoon Gray with black optics and S-line packages. S-line gives it a mild drop (I think 2cm and probably the same as stock S3) versus normal A3 4x4 status and has the S3 door sills and all that jazz. She loves it, but doesn't love the wheels and intends to swap them out. With what? Not sure. Looking to stay at stock height on an 18" wheel, but we can probably step the width up a bit to fill it out and reduce that tight-shoes-on-cankles look.

Her stock wheels are 18" rotors with black powdercoat and machined lips. Actually very nice looking, but not her cup of tea.

Just looking for a little inspo here. Key words here: conservative, OEM plus. Something that looks like it could've been factory (or is a factory wheel for that matter). Not looking for 3-piecers with polished lips, plasti dipped stockers, or anything else that will cause her to get approached at gas stations by every dude with a tune and cut springs on his mk4 GTI.

i would maybe look in the classifieds on here and craigslist, ebay and the S38v group on facebook for those selling s3 wheels. ive seen a set of non black optic s3 19s for $800 w/ tires

These are one of my fav OEM A3 Rims, found them on CL and scooped them up. Perhaps she might like them too, gotta look for them. They were on the 2015 A3 PP.

I swapped out my 18s for 19" black optics. Added black ECS spacers, black center caps and black lug caps. I love the subtle OEM+ look.

The Canadian S-line matte titanium 18" wheels are probably the best looking 18" for the A3.

There are so many wheels that can fit. I'm. A big fan of repurposed OE wheels. I tend to fall a bit more on the aggressive side, not to the point of silly alignment settings of fender mods. I still expect my car to function as a car. There are some wheels on the Q3 I think would look good on a A3, once you get the SUV tires off. Keep in mind the ride will change as you move to larger wheels, if she is sensitive to noise and vibration try and stick with 18s.

they look like it when compared to the oem tires. They are Michelin Pilot Super Sport 235/35 Tires. PSS's run taller/wider. The newer version of the PSS's (PS4S) are similar too!

Looks nice. Assume you modified the suspension to lower it? What system did you install up fron5 and in rear? Spacers?

thx! Bilstein PSS10 Coilovers (FTG 25 1/16" front, 25 3/16" rear), ECS Spacers (15mm front 10mm rear). ton of details here.
