Top two pictures are before, last two after all assembled. Comparing full view pictures on the left, you can definitely note timing chain stretch when you look at distance between chains inside the two main guides. After initial and properly timed installation (all marks and colored links aligned) I turned the engine over CW numerous times thinking I would eventually get all timing marks and colored chain links to align once more (as a double check before I buttoned it all up). After about 50 revolutions by hand (with plugs out of course) I gave up. Later read Audi reference that stated it would take about 160 revolutions of the engine to return to the initial position with all timing marks and colored chain links lining up. Mmmmm....only 110 to go. Don't think so.
Replaced serpentine belt tensioner and idler pulley, belt too.
Not too bad, just took my time. Car runs like a top now, much smoother. New plugs and R8 coils too.
