My 2018 TTRS build with exclusive interior ( pics from audi )

I've been driving TT's since 2001. Started out with a basic 2wd in 2001, upgraded to an 2005 sline w/ the dual clutch, then a 2008 3.2 manual and my current is a 2010 TTS with APR ECU tune. The one thing they all have in common, they all have been silver and black.

I missed the boat on the previous RS version and have been saving my money once a new one was rumored to be announced. I wanted to break myself of my silver trend, even tho they always look amazing but I'm super tired of all black interiors.

So Audi did me a favor by not offering a silver RS this time around but I was highly disappointed that the TT and RS3 are the only 2 offerings by Audi that only come in black interior. To me for the TT and TTS to have more interior options than the flagship model was highly discouraging.

I've only seen 2 new RS with exclusive interiors. The lime green you can search for with an all grey interior and the ara blue one you see on utube videos with the grey and alabaster white 2 tone.

When they tell you doing an audi exclusive interior takes extra time, they are not kidding around. I put my money down in april ( 2nd person at Audi Dallas ) and I just recently got a rendered version from Audi what my interior is going to look like.

Thought I'd share that with everybody here.

My build is as follows:

Catalunya Red Metallic exterior
Red Brake Calipers
Black Optic Package
Tech Package
Carbon Fiber Inlays
RS Sports Exhaust
Exclusive interior

After market stuff:

Tint windows
Black out badges
Black out gas tank
Some sort of paint protection
ECU tune
KN Air filter

This will not be my daily driver as I will continue to drive my 2010 TTS in mayhem of Dallas traffic and over abundance of road construction.

I'm hoping to have the car before the end of the year and I'm sure my sales guy would too cause I hit him up weekly on trying to get updates.

Will post the final product once it arrives. Certainly leaving my comfort zone of 17 years of silver/black but wanted something very different.

I honestly did not know you can also have a customized interior. Thought it was only the vehicle color. Did it cost extra as well?

Yes. It's pricey. If you've seen an order guide they have the exclusive interior stuff at the end after all the models.

The optional colors are lacking in my opinion. What's more lacking is they don't really have a Configurator and the dealership(s) ( went to all of them) didn't have any pictures of previous builds of any model. They just have small swatches to show you. It took over two months to get these "rendered" pics back. So can't really do a bunch of back and forth bc of the time it takes.

The interior options I went cost a little over $6k which is a little more than $1k than you'd spend if you wanted a custom exterior. I'd rather spend the money on the interior on an exterior color or the dynamic plus package which is about the same cost but nothing I really cared for.

Also, are there any additional areas of the doors or dash that are covered in leather? I am ordering an exclusive paint color but would love to get some red in the interior, they do have quite the entry charge to going exclusive in the interior.

If you're doing the exclusive paint then you're already paying the entry fee for the exclusive stuff. It's a 1x fee that covers interior and exterior. So you could add interior options without having to pay other set up fee.

But I've posted a breakdown given to me on all the leather/stitching. I've made some changes to the black leather/black stitching in areas but I'm going to keep the clean look of red leather with red stitching.

Thanks, I had thought that the $1200 charge was just to "start" on the interior and separate from the exterior, if that's the case then that would reduce the cost and worth digging into further for me. That will really make your car unique.

Update.

Car was allocated 9/20 with eta of Xmas. Checked in with dealer yesterday build has now been bumped back to February with an eta of end of March.

So almost one year from deposit to delivery.

President of Audi is going to be @ Grapevine Audi Monday October 23rd for an open house event 6-8. Going to ask him what the heck buddy. At this point I’m inclined to wait for the 19’ since this version will have been out for almost 2 years by the time I receive mine.

Talking to others who put down deposits in June or July they are still waiting for an allocation.

Talking to different dealers sounds like Audi is giving a region, multiple states, 1 allocation a month.

If anybody has any questions I’ll certainly try to run them by the Audi president on Monday.

I finally received an allocation this week, it is also for an Exclusive exterior and interior, although as of right now I have chosen the Palomino Package exclusive interior which is a bit more "off the shelf". My sales guy says the estimate is a December build, but based on your update I would bet that moves back.

I put a deposit down for my TT RS back in Feb of this year, we weren’t even sure if they were coming to Canada yet. In March the dealership called me and told me that they would have an order/build sheet by the end of the month. The end of March came around and I received a build sheet and took it home for the night to decide what I did and didn’t want. The following day I brought the sheet in and gave it to my salesman. A week later I was called back into the dealership to go over the options I chose and sign the final order as they were open for order entry the following morning (Early April). My order was the first in Edmonton to be placed and the dealership thought they were only going to be allocated to 6 units. My car was finally delivered in August. I was talking to the dealer principal a couple weeks ago and he was trying to get more allocations as he said he could sell another 5 easily.

My point is only that I think it is quite surprising your car isn’t a ‘19 car at this point...I love the options you have chosen and I hope you see your car sooner that later, I know how much it sucks to wait, Cheers!

Very cool build, I just placed an order with Audi Concord in Bay Area yesterday. I was thinking about just talking about the order but they happened to get “an” allocation on Thursday so why not taking this rare chance to lock in my order NOW. This allocation is scheduled to build in February 2018 and the car should arrive in March 2018.

My build is similar to yours but standard black seats with red stitching interior. I was thinking about doing exclusive paint but I couldn’t figure out the way to explain my wife about why spending $3900 on the paint so I have to settle with anything on the list. I was lucky enough that she agreed on getting new car so let’s not push my luck too far. She likes Red and I have nothing against it so Catalunya Red it is!

ETA: Was 12/25-1/1/18.....DRUM ROLL.....now ETA End of April 2018. Its still not even locked in!

Got word last night the car has hit the Houston port. Projected release date on 4/22. The excitement I once had for this car is diminished, somewhat, by the year wait, the fact a refreshed RS is about 4-5months away and the toughest pill to swallow, that in 18 months the VC will no longer support Google earth etc (as seen in the customer service thread).

I'm on the fence as to whether I'll take delivery of this car b/c of the reasons above. Especially since this is not going to be my DD. I'd have probably less than 10k miles on it by the time the VC is obsolete.

A TTRS is my personal, attainable, dream car and I'll have one in my garage, if not this next week, for sure next year.

I'll post pictures of this long awaited car and we'll see if this crazy interior looks as bad ass as I hope it does.

I’ll post some better pics without the shipping material still on the outside muting the interior red color. But man. Its incredible. And I too after 20years of just black interiors was sooo tired of it. I’m in Houston car is getting ceramic pro today. I’ll pick it up Saturday and then get some better pics up.
