    Supercharger Lag....

Lately, I've been noticing a delay/hesitation from a dig. The light turns green, and it takes 2 seconds to really start moving. I avoided turbo cars for this very reason. Maybe it's all in my head. Can it be due to the hot weather?

Dsg needs to be re-adapted perhaps...they tend to start slacking from time to time...

Can you try it in manual mode so it starts in first gear, and then try the same? In D, I believe it will always start from 2nd gear; not sure about S.

Mine does not. Starts in first every time - I have the in gear display enabled.
Life has taught me never try to make something idiot proof, they'll simply come up with a better idiot.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.
I have neither the time, nor the crayons to explain this to you properly.

    Turn off traction control

Nothing more embarrassing than trying to do a 60 roll with someone and spinning the tires and TC killing all your power.

DSG will always start in first FROM A STOP. However, my 2014 will not go to first gear when slowing down until less than 3MPH. Not sure if thats what you are experiencing.

Also, on my APR stage 2 single pulley tune with DSG tune, the torque doesn't really come on until 3K+. There more pull under 3K than a turbo car, but the S4 torque curve still has a curve.
2014 S4 DSG, APR stage 2, APR DSG tune, 034 Intake, real dipstick.

    Since when?

I can hit over 400 ftlbs at 2000rpm...

RPM vs Engine Torque on a 1/4 mi pull

Building boost quickly is the biggest benefit of a super over a turbo.

Maybe because you have DP? I'm not talking dead under 3K like a turbo car, but try a 3rd gear pull from 1.5K.

There is a about 50ft-lbs difference from 2k to 3k according to dyno charts (stock or stg 1/2), and I can feel that in a 3rd gear pull from down low.

My old tune with a 7,000rpm red line but, full 3rd gear pull starting at 1.7k

The only time I've ever had it bog is when traction control is on or if Launch Control doesn't engage and the RPMs don't climb right.

I don't have much seat time in APR cars but I've drive both Stage 2 and DP and they seemed fine launching and doing 3rd gear pulls.

nice curve! I've never dyno'ed mine, but it sure feels like the APR advertised curve. Maybe something is wrong with my tune...

I've had mine on the Dyno 3 times.

    1 - Stage 2
    2 - DP without a proper tune(Stage 2 + CW)
    3 - DP without a proper tune(early version of a Stage 2+ tune)

I'll likely throw it back on after I get the headers put in. The above chart is just based off one of my logs.

    Geoff --
Thanks for sharing the mods, logs and charts with the community

I am just beginning the mods to my new-to-me 2016 S4 and the handling stuff (Rear sway bar, AK and CR bars, new wheels & tires) go on first. Then, it will be the Dual pulley from 034, just as soon as they can confirm the TCU tune is also available. I don't feel too bad about any delay in mods as I have just had the car for 2 weeks LOL

Like you, I participated in the Header buy that Justin put together, so I am VERY interested in any back-to-back comparo that you do before / after the headers. I am up north of you (on Camano Island WA) and look forward to swapping info and learning from you / others once I get back into the game. Call any time on my cell phone two eight one - 703 - six one three oh. [Also plan on keeping my 2001.5 Stg 3 Imola B5 Avant 6MT I had tuned by VAST about 10 yrs ago.] Life is good; Jay
