Side assist not working

My side assist has stopped working seems like ever since I got my windows tinted. I get no message on the dash it just does not seem to light up. I know the lights still function cause I can adjust the brightness of it. Any help?

The tiny would have no effect on the system, as it runs off radar sensors in the rear bumper cover.
Scanned with a VAG-COM to see if there's any faults within the system?
Have you gone out and driven in normal traffic, on the highway to simulate a vehicle in your blind spot to see if the Side Assist is operating correctly?

I get no message on the dash it just does not seem to light up.

Unless you have a radar sensor failure or intermittent power issue, you wouldn't see a warning message on your gauge cluster.

+1 - you have it turned on right? installers might have bumped the button.

Did you tint the windshield? Or did they remove the review mirror for anything? If the light sensor behind the mirror thinks it's dark out, the side assist lights are extremely dim in the daytime.

I just replaced the gel between the mirror and the glass for this reason (windshield installer screwed up that part)

Having this same problem, however i just installed new side mirrors and thought maybe i did something wrong but they light up when switching the brightness level. Also got a tint strip installed under the rear view mirror? Any more ideas?

I have this problem but I did not get tint work done, no idea why, I have zero codes in vag com

Following up - now have a malfunction message every time I hit the button that turns the side assist on and off.

I'll ask again: what's a VAG-COM scan report back with?
There is a significant error the system is registering; you need to scan and determine such.

I have the same problem. Also when I hit the button I get a message saying Side assist system fault or something like that.

Did you ever find the problem?

I just installed carbon mirror caps and now have “side assist system fault”, both side assist mirror lights function and I didn’t get the fault immediately but after 10-15miles driving. I’ll get the VAG-COM on it tomorrow see what the fault code is but if anyone knows what I could have f’d up fitting the mirror caps would appreciate the hit.

any updates to this issue mine isn't working (pulled a code but forgot what it was (maybe secondary sensor)) Would like to address this issue and get mine working again.
