Volume control "Currently Unavailable" while listening to radio

Something strange recently happened, and I'm not sure why or how to correct. When listening to the FM/Radio tuner ONLY, I'm unable to adjust the volume! It says "currently unavailable" instead of changing volume. However, every other source the volume changes just fine?

Only thing I can think of, is I just recently used the VAGCOM to change a few things, but ONLY changed things I knew what I was changing, and followed the forum guidelines... didn't go poking around or anything.

    Any ideas???

It means the station you want to listen to is not available to listen to. It happens a lot on HD fm stations. Not an issue, it just that station has not enough signal in the area you are going through . Signal on HD stations are either strong enough or not to be heard . It only happens on FM radio, just like you are experencing. All is normal, your settings changes had nothing to do with it, you just did not notice before.

To adjust volume? Why would a weak signal - Far side (broadcast) affect near side (car control)? Serious question too.

I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.
I have neither the time, nor the crayons to explain this to you properly.

HD radio is digital, either you have signal strength enough to have station be heard or you do not. When you do not you,see icon with a line across a speaker. That means you' can not receive the station. When that occurs and you try to change station volume, you see " currently not available." Only happens on radio on digital " HD station"

Ok, good to know. I've never encountered this myself and would've just expected that there would just not be any audio.

This has happened to me a long time ago. A hard reset fixed it immediately.

Look at the 2nd image in the first post. Press and hold down until it shuts off.

The same issue happened to me today but I was listening to an AM station. The issue cleared while I was driving with no changes.
