C5 brake caliper upgrade / help

Okay to start off I'm having a break issue my outer brake pad is almost new while the inner is gone. Now correct me if I'm wrong that means I have to get a whole new caliper correct? I've taken the guys out clean them spotless then regreased.

Second I'm looking for all new brake pads and rotors I'm not exactly sure where to get a good brand I'm looking for something that's cross drilled slotted this option is pertaining to the stock brake system I have.

Third I'm also looking for another brake option that has bigger calipers? Basically something that looks like Brembo but not Brembo I don't want to sell my first born. Sorry I'm very illiterate when it comes to brakes. 😎

Take the 18z brembos with s4 b8 345x30 rotor. Bolt on solution if the caliper mounting distance is 146mm.

Could the slider bolts be seized? I had a similar problem on one of my rear brakes recently. I replaced the caliper hanger bracket and it's all good again.

Maybe it's time for an upgrade. I think all b8(s4 s5), c7(a6/7, s6/7, rs7) brakes will work on c5. I've seen a buddy installed d4 s8 400mm rotors and calipers on his c5 s6. I took off the stoptech st60 380mm bbk from my s5 and installed it on my s6 avant and the fitment is perfect. Make sure you remove the dust shield.

For the rears I purchased the apikol bracket to keep the stock calipers and 310mm a8 rotors. Brake pedal feel was really weird when I installed the front bbk, but it made a huge difference after I upgraded the rears.

yeah sticky pins means you at least need to take apart and clean, maybe replace the rubber boots or pins or both. sometimes its really simple

    18Z uses a 350x34.

Running a 345x30 is not spec for the 18Z. If you want the perfect combo rotor for the 18Z with correct veining get the piece rotors from girodisc or jhm

I'm sorry I should have been more specific. For some reason brakes tend to be a foreign concept for me. I know how to put them on that's just about it. But to correct myself sorry I took out the sliding pins and cleaned them and regrease them. I'll try to post a picture of it If ican today. I got to have someone step in the pedal because every time I step on the brake pedal I can hear like a creaking sound coming from that side.

thanks for the information that actually helped out a lot I wasn't sure what compatibility this car had if any. but anything like stoptech seems to be a lot of money 800 bucks plus. I'm just not entirely sure where to look to be honest. For some reason finding brakes for this car has been very difficult for me.

There're plenty of used c7 calipers on eBay and rotors (meyle, Zimmerman, etc.) are not that expensive. Make sure you buy the caliper with caliper carrier, otherwise it won't fit.
