    Tuned APR RS7 top speed

Curious to know if anyone has taken their tuned car to the limit and if so what that top speed ends up being? I believe I read over 200mph but wasn't sure if anyone here has done it?

Ooooh, great question. I pushed past 170 on the way to Vegas (obviously it was a private road/track...whatever) and, acceleration-wise, there was no indication of things letting up. I will add that if anyone tries this, stiffen the f#@k out of your suspension before you do--it gets pretty scary when the car's wallowing all over the place if you forget. I'd also recommend doing it on a road surface you've screened/driven down just prior to ensure those undulations aren't too large--they become ramps at 150+.

Haha I hit a nice bump/dip at 170. Scared the crap out of me but to my surprise.. well not really it's a German car, felt very stable through it

i did 194 in my stage 3 s6 on corsa rally, just missed the 200 club by 6 mph.

have not done a rally in the rs7 but if there is enough road you can pop up to 200 the s6 was still pulling by one of the aero panels fell off at 194 which is a very unsettling sound and feeling.

    I know it's surprising.
I said to my wife take a picture because no one ever believes me. 3 people in my car and two other cars with me (witnesses)
There was exact weather time and everything.
The other time we did it again and there was no way to get even close to that speed. My car still did 181 however I felt quite uncomfortable at that speed and let it go

So no one has exceeded the 200mph mark, hmm. I have come close on my old CBR1000RR hitting 196, but that bike got there fast and slowed down fast so less road needed. I would think one would need a good long stretch with the RS7 so as not to smoke the brakes slowing down. Maybe a nice long airport runway that is closed off perhaps. I was searching and see maybe some have done this in Europe.

I have no doubt a tuned RS7 would eclipse 200mph given the proper road

There was a video of a non tuned RS hitting 193 on the autobahn. I am sure 200 could be done under the right conditions but good luck finding them.

Ah ha, an opportunity for my particular model to do something useful for once (other than look good)! <clears voice> My brakes would be juuuuuuuuust peachy thank you very much (I hope). So that's where that other $20,000 went... sigh.

I've done 180 in my RS7 at 3 am and I filmed it at 175 mph driving with one hand. I would post the video but can't.

I think you'll need more than a mile to hit 200, stage 2 should hit 160ish in the 1/2 mile and at 250+ fps you run out of real estate quick, I know it will do 200+ but not sure how long it will take, 30 seconds maybe, so I'd guess 1.5 miles to be safe.

As Carl said, you won't hit 200 in a standing mile run. Maybe 185-190

Not sure, I couldn't care less about corvettes LOL

But I do know that a McLaren 675LT (which runs 10.3s in the 1/4 mile, like the stage 2 104 RS7 crew) hits 185 on average in a standing mile. Better aero and lighter weight than the RS7 so I would guess a stage 2 104 octane RS7 would land in the 180 range, not the 185-190 range I guessed above.

stage 2 RS7 will pants a stock Z06 in 1/4 and 1/2 mile- from all I know and have seen, the stage 2 RS7 on 104 will go 162ish in the 1/2 in about 17 seconds, so from there what it does in the mile is unknown by me- but considering the car has 750HP and Cd of .30, it's still pulling pretty hard beyond that point, my guess is like Mickey's, somewhere just north of 180-182 but we'll need someone to try it to know for sure

Unless your RS7 is somehow quicker than the 5+ other guys running 104 octane stage 2 tunes, I don't see your car outperforming a 675LT in a mile run. Do you have any track times?

And after seeing your edit, no bunched panties here! I would love to see this platform continue to improve, we're all on the same team!

agreed- and just an FYI, Stage 1 104 v stage 2 104 is like 35-40 HP so we're not talking 2 totally different cars, I've trapped 132 so far in the 1/4 and the fastest Stage 2 cars 134ish, it's not a huge difference between the 2. We are for sure on the same team, I hope you kick butt in the flying mile, I was just giving my opinion on what it'll turn and i hope you prove me totally wrong!
